Description

The pelvic floor are muscles located between our tailbone and pubic bone. Lately, the importance of the pelvic floor has skyrocketed, and rightfully so! This important muscle group is not only integral to female health and pregnancy, but they also support our bowel and bladder health as well. However, many women suffer from pelvic floor issues that a lot of doctors often misdiagnose or pay no attention to, and today’s guest is on a mission to change that.    In today’s episode, I talk to Dr. Jessica Warnecke, an orthopedic and pelvic floor physical therapist and founder of PACE Physical Therapy in Austin, Texas. She helps women find the root cause of their pelvic floor issues and helps them overcome their pain and trauma.    During our conversation, Dr. Warnecke speaks on the huge transformation pelvic floor therapy offers to women. She shares the importance of preventative care for your pelvic therapy, how to take care of your body and pelvic floor postpartum and how past trauma can impact your pelvic floor.    In this episode, we cover: Dr. Warnecke shares more about how she became a physical therapist and why recovery is important when you face an injury [3:09] The relief pelvic floor therapists can offer and why you need to focus on preventative care [7:43] Pregnancy, C-Sections, Bounce Back Culture and your pelvic floor [14:45] Pelvic floor exercises and therapy postpartum [23:39] How anxiety and past trauma impact your pelvic floor [32:18] Dr. Warnecke shares some of her best tips for preventing pelvic floor injuries [35:16]   Connect with Jess: Website: www.pacept.com Instagram: https://instagram.com/drjessicapt   Connect with Deanna: IG: @dietitiandeanna Website: https://dietitiandeanna.com  This episode is sponsored by the Online Entrepreneur Academy.
