Description

Katie Cross was born with rugby, likely in the womb first ? , but definitely since the spry young age of 5 when her Dad, an Irish scrum half himself, registered her for a tag rugby league. She played through her youth & into college, recovered from 2 major ankle injuries, & found herself burned out on rugby after college. When she rejoined at the women’s club level, her relationship to rugby changed completely & in a way that she’s dreaming the transition to coaching, following in her Dad’s footsteps.
Sus & Katie Cross chat in depth on Katie’s college rugby life at JMU, on being an experience player among newbies, & how coaching is so nuanced. They also jump in & out of how influential Katie’s Dad, the one & only Rusty Cross, has been part of her rugby journey all along the way. Don’t miss another round of 2 Truths & A Lie all the way at the end! What height lock is the shortest you’ve known?

As always, WITH YOU is looking for more guests to come on the show! If you’ve ever been part of a womxn’s rugby program, I want to hear from you ? Find a participation survey on our website About page or email Sus for more info.
