Description

The Brief Overview of Psychiatric Disorders training, presented by David Haynik, is a two-hour overview of symptoms and presentations that are consistent with major psychiatric disorders. It is a refresher for experienced mental health clinicians and ideal for those new to mental health. While specific diagnoses will be discussed, the emphasis is on the symptoms and how those symptoms may be experienced by individuals. The training is person-centered and recovery-focused. Use of vignettes and examples help to demonstrate the challenges that people with psychiatric disorders face in their daily lives.
