Description

This workshop will consist of 3 parts providing participants with an overview of the relevant issues in meeting the unique cultural and linguistic assessment needs of Latina/o patients. First, common cultural competence models will be revisited through the lens of cultural humility and the emerging structural competence framework. Participants will then be introduced to various assessment strategies that incorporate both bilingual and monolingual assessment frameworks. Finally, case examples that illustrate differential outcomes from adopting this framework will be discussed.
