Description

In this first official episode, your gregarious goons go over Pet Sematary, Pet Sematary II, Stephen King's original novel, and briefly look at the upcoming remake. We analyze what from the original source material would make the new film superior because as it goes with books, "sometimes read is better."
Director, Mary Lambert, was predominantly a music video director, and her style shows in this film.
The first film stars Dale Midkiff (Time Trax, Air Bud 3, Dexter) as Louis Creed, a young father trying to attain the semblance of normalcy in his new home. His well-meaning neighbor, Jud Crandall, is played by the legendary Fred Gwynne (The Munsters, My Cousin Vinny, Fatal Attraction). Denise Crosby (Star Trek: The Next Generation, Dolly Dearest, Deep Impact) plays Louis' long-suffering wife, struggling to cope with the change in setting, and her family dynamic.
The sequel, Pet Sematary II, starred Edward Furlong, Anthony Edwards, and Clancy Brown. It has some redeeming qualities, despite many thinking it bastardized the source material.
The Ramones performed the title track for the first film and the theme for the sequel, Poison Heart.
