Description

We fancy. Or, as the French would say, "nous avons envie." That's right, we are reviewing a foreign film, but you would hardly notice, because the visuals tell the story so well. This week is High Tension, also known as "Switchblade Romance." While the switchblade imagery does play into the themes in the film somewhat, High Tension is a much more appropriate title, given that everything rises to a fever pitch throughout the very manageable 92 minute run time.
The film has been criticized for its similarities to Intensity, by Dean Koontz, the comparisons have likely prompted even more people to see the film. The film was directed by Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, Maniac, Piranha 3D, Crawl). It stars Cécile de France, Maïwenn, and Philippe Nahon. Overall, it is a sight to behold from the torrential geysers of blood, to the stellar showings of fear in the actresses.
This week's "Hidden Track" is 911 by Babe Patrol. If you ever have feedback or recommendations on future episodes, please let us know at slasherspod@gmail.com.
