Description
Have you heard or embraced any of the above phrases? What does it mean to really be a good man?
We are so thrilled about this convo today. A few years ago Kait went on a journey to discover more about masculinity and what it means to quote on quote be a “real man”. She read so many books and listened to sermons and podcasts and watched documentaries and realized there is so much that needs to be discussed here.
And then, low and behold a good friend of hers, Nathan Clarkson, came out with a book on this very topic from a Christian perspective. And friends, it is so so good.
So today we discuss, Kait and Nathan discuss what it takes to be a good man.
Nathan Clarkson is an actor, best-selling author, filmmaker, and full-time wannabe philosopher on the podcast The Overthinkers. He has appeared numerous TV shows and films, runs indie film studio Clarkson Creations, and is author of the recent book Good Man. Nathan lives between New York City, Los Angeles, and his hometown of Monument, Colorado, where he hangs out with his golden retriever, Darcy.
If you’re a man listening to this right now, you’re going to just really enjoy this conversation and we think it will help you feel seen and also challenge you in a variety of ways. As for the ladies out there, this is also such a helpful conversation for you too. Women need to be able to partner with our brothers and be a part of healing in the areas that have been confusing and hurting and harmful to men and their formation of masculinity.
Some themes of today’s conversation:
-Recent stats related to masculinity
-The importance of being adventurous
-The importance of being emotional
-The importance of being brotherly
-The importance of being devout
-The importance of being romantic
PS. Right now more than ever we are inundated with extreme changes that could be causing levels of confusion, grief, and even fear and anxiety.
Something that has greatly helped our host, Kait, has been being able to talk with someone who can truly help her sort through and calm these elements down. For her that looks like going to therapy, specifically Faithful Counseling.
