Description

Friends, we are in the midst of quarantine right now and I just am so grateful for this community. Now more than ever we need one another.

If you want to get connected even more deeply in our community, please come join us over on Instagram @heartofdating and also on facebook at www.facebook.com/heartofdating

We have a stellar community of singles in these communities sharing their struggles, joys, and everything in between.

For today’s episode we decided last minute to bring on our amazing friend, Jonathan Pokluda also known as "JP" who has been on Heart of Dating before. This time we wanted to bring a word that is so timely in our culture and current season as it relates to COVID-19.

If you don’t know JP, you should know him, but here is a bit about him.

Jonathan Pokluda is the lead pastor of Harris Creek Baptist Church in Waco, TX. Previously, he was the leader of The Porch and teaching pastor of Watermark Community Church, both in Dallas, TX. Under his leadership, The Porch grew to be the largest young adult ministry of its kind in the world.

JP has recently also seen his passion expressed through writing. His bestselling book, Welcome to Adulting, he offers Millennials a roadmap to navigate faith, finances, friendships, and the future. He also has a Welcome to Adulting Survival Guide, is a 42-day guide dedicated to those in their 20s and 30s. JP is passionate about equippingAnd most recently his brand new book Welcoming the future Church

Today JP and Kait dive into pornography and masturbation during this season of quarantine specifically and how we can resist and break this cycle of addiction.

This is for sure an adult conversation, but one we need as singles especially during this time of isolation and distancing.

PS. Right now more than ever we are inundated with extreme changes that could be causing levels of confusion, grief, and even fear and anxiety.

Something that has greatly helped our host, Kait, has been being able to talk with someone who can truly help her sort through and calm these elements down. For her that looks like going to therapy, specifically Faithful Counseling.

Faithful Counseling is a faith based online therapy network that incorporates Christian principles, prayer, and spiritual practices. In 24 hours you will be matched with a therapist that fits your needs. You can also easily schedule weekly video or phone sessions and do them from the comfort of your home, in your most comfy attire.

And to make it even better, you can get 10% off your first month when you join through Heart of Dating! Visit getfaithful.com/heartofdating to learn more!
