Description

The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 8th study session on Ralph Ellison's 1952 gem, Invisible Man. Gus T's all-time favorite book, Ellison's exemplary novel was selected for the 1953 National Book Award and has been studied and celebrated around the world for 75 years. The book chronicles an unnamed black male as he slogs through the turmoil and terrorism of White Supremacy (Racism). Last week's session covered the eviction of an elderly black couple by a White police officer. The main character attempts to calm the gathering black crowd, but they eventually stampeded him on the way to brutalizing the White policeman. Reinforcements quell the ensuing "riot," but a White organization named the Brotherhood appreciates the protagonist's speech-making, and hope to acquire his services. Working with the Brotherhood pays well, but requires the man character to vacate Ms. Mary's rooming house and to sever ties with his friends and family. The White Brotherhood is his new family. #AntiBlackness INVEST in The C.O.W.S. - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE 564943#
