Once you settle, the challenge then becomes connecting with the community and finding your tribe. Here on the I Love Madison Show, the hosts work hard to make sure that you have all the resources you need to get connected! From meetups, business networking and food tours, the goal is simple: Build community. Chris Sorenson hosts the “Meetup of the Week” segment This meetup will fulfill all of your soul’s greatest desires! Rock climbing, laser tag, and indoor trampoline parks are just a few of the adventures you might find. This awesome meetup has 662 members. Check out the link in the resources below! Chris Reese hosts the “My Move” segment with guest Miles Hofschulz Today, Miles Hoffscultz joins Chris Reese on the ILM show. Miles is a movie producer who recently moved to Madison. After traveling far and wide for work, Miles landed in this great city. Soon after arriving, he connected to the local community through the art community, encouraged by his wife who is a musician and is well-connected to the music culture in Madison. He mentioned that one of his favorite things about Madison is how accessible everything is via bike. There are numerous trails he recommends, so if you are new to Madison, keep that in mind! Besides biking, Miles says the fine art scene is outstanding, the farmer’s market is a must see and if you are hungry, Sal’s Pies is his favorite place to grab a pizza! Neil Mathweg hosts featured guest Chris Attaway from Epicurean Chronicles to talk about the food scene in Madison Chris Attaway is one of those trailing spouses who followed her husband to Madison when he took a job here in the city. Chris and her family lived in San Francisco, then San Diego before moving to Madison. She arrived in the middle of winter and experienced all the woes of the Madison polar vortex. Despite a cold start, Chris says she loves living in Madison! Chris started a blog that cataloged the places she found to eat around the city. It wasn’t long before that blog had amassed a huge following, allowing her to make that her full-time job. The result is the Epicurean Chronicles, a blog that aims to build a sense of community and bring people together through their love for food. Epicurean has now expanded to multiple cities, with regional teams exploring and writing about all things food! Chris says she loves the sense of community she has found in Madison, as well as the fact that the people are genuine and kind. She strongly encourages listeners to check out Graze Restaurant, as well as Estrellón. Outline of This Episode [2:00] The Madison Food Tournament has crowned a champion!
