In this podcast, Dr. Berg talks about the reason why you should not be taking IRON if you get sick. Iron is needed for the body with many different reasons including to feed good and bad bacteria. Pathogens needs iron to thrive and grow. When your body starts getting sick and your inflammation goes up, the body starts storing ferritin (a protein-bound iron resource) that basically hides the iron from the pathogens(bad bacteria and bad microbes) so they can’t get it.
