Dr. Berg talks about ketosis and why it's hard-wired into our genetics. It is not an alternative fuel source, it is a primary fuel source. Glucose as in glycolysis is an alternative fuel source. Mother nature has never design the body to run on the amount of sugar that we use in modern times. Our body's have at a very minimum 77,000 calories of stored fat (a lean person) and only a tiny (1700 calories) amount of stored sugar (glycogen). It only makes common sense that our body was designed to run on fat fuel (ketones).
