Caroline Dixon, USA National Teen 2015 is joining us today. She has been participating in pageantry since 2012. Caroline has used her reign to spread the message of positivity and self-acceptance throughout the country. She will be attending college in the fall and will pursue a career in Nursing. Caroline will be giving up her title very soon and will be sharing her tips and advice with us today on how to prepare as an outgoing queen. It can be difficult to pass along your title after putting your heart and soul into it for an entire year. How does one mentally prepare for giving up a title? What advice do you have for the girls getting ready to pass along their titles? What advice should the reigning titleholder pass along to the girls competing? Some girls miss having a title so they compete shortly after passing along their crown. How do you know when it is a good time to compete for another title? How do you know when you are ready to focus on other areas of life other than pageantry? Before you give up the crown, how can you create opportunities for yourself after your reign is over? (examples: create connections or contacts, open doors to modeling, be a mentor, volunteer with your system in the future, continue platform work, etc.) How do you mentally prepare for your farewell speech? What are your tips for writing a farewell speech/video?  Who should you remember to include or thank? How far in advance should a farewell speech be written? Titleholders often bring gifts for the reigning queen. In your opinion, what are a few gifts ideas that would be perfect? Some outgoing queens bring gifts for the contestants. What are some great items, that are not too expensive, that can be given to the contestants? What can be done with extra autograph cards? (Examples: some girls have sent them off in care packages to soldiers or delivered them to a children’s hospital) What should a titleholder make sure she accomplishes during her reign?  What should she be sure to accomplish early on?
