Description
Peter Ballerstedt earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Georgia and his doctorate at the University of Kentucky. He was the forage extension specialist at Oregon State University from 1986 to 1992. He currently works in the forage seed industry. Peter’s personal experience has led him to re-examine human diet and health. What he has learned doesn’t agree with the advice given for the past several decades. This new understanding combined with his forage background has given him an increased passion for the key to true social, economic and ecological sustainability – ruminant animal production systems – the source of butter, red meat, and cheese! Peter has spoken at many different events in the US and internationally. Many of his presentations are available on YouTube (http://bit.ly/2JJDJpE). He blogs at “Grass Based Health” (http://bit.ly/2XaRdxv) and Facebook (http://bit.ly/2wsNBes), and posts to twitter and Instagram @GrassBased. Peter and Nancy live in western Oregon with their two dogs Conor and Noni.
