About this ebook
A RUMOR OF RICHES. A MAZE OF MURDER. AND THE WORLD’S MOST DANGEROUS, SOUGHT-AFTER PRIZE.
Nina Wilde and Eddie Chase possess extraordinary pieces of an ancient puzzle that leads them from Singapore to the jungles of South America. Inside a storm of political and drug warfare, Nina is getting close to one of history’s greatest secrets: the mythical golden city of El Dorado. As one discovery unveils another, Nina realizes that a legendary Incan leader made a deal with his Spanish captors—and hid forever the real El Dorado. Now, Nina and Eddie face a maze of death traps and betrayals, including one that reaches into Eddie’s past in Afghanistan, even into his own family in England. Behind a waterfall in Peru is an unfound wonder of the world. And to get there, Nina and Eddie may have to sacrifice everything: their friends, their love for one another, even their lives.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Nina and Eddie search for the lost Inca city of El Dorado. On the way they blow a lot of stuff up and kill a lot of bad guys. Standard. Unusually this one has a bit of a cliff hanger ending and is also the first in the series of these funny, silly books that actually brought a tear to my eye.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Whilst this was better than Hunt for Atlantis, it was still disappointing. It's half a book really. You start off with the story set up to be about some fancy statues, the whole book is about tracing the missing statue in the set and then on the last page, the story isn't resolved and you're left with essentially a forward sell for the next book.In my mind a good series allows you to read a single book and enjoy it, yet read them all and benefit from a continuing set of plots & sub plots watching the characters grow. As a single book Empire of Gold is like turning off a movie half way through - a let down.Yeah, it fills in time, it's exciting in parts, it's got scenery & adventure. Yet it's also got filler, no ending and stupid characters who don't listen, pay attention or use logic.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A typical read from this author. Eddie & Nina get into & out of many situations while trying to find the "Lost City of Gold - El Dorado". The bad guy does not get caught at the end so, the author has reason to continue the adventure in his next book.
