Joel and Ethan Coen probably have noticed that their two biggest global successes, "True Grit" and "No Country for Old Men," constitute different but related sorts of Westerns. "True Grit" is more or less traditional, sardonically comic, ultimately bittersweet. "No Country" perches a contemporary Western saga of law, lawlessness, order and vicious chaos atop a serial killer movie.
