In this script version of his book with the same title, the author adds that "something else" action movies have, like the coldness of Jack prioritizing his finances to the magnicide he's called out to investigate, or details of Stephan's training with Hildegard.

 

President Gardner has been assassinated, dismembered and his parts stone staked to one of the walls of the Oval Office, but unbelievably that grim scenario is not (nor even close to being) the worst threat facing the United States. An attack of biblical dimensions has wiped out more than a third of the population in the large-scale operation known as "The Day of the Raven." Yet America's weapons and response capabilities are 90% operational, and what's left of the government is asking: why? Who have bulldozed us to rubble but left our offensive responsiveness mostly intact? Who have been responsible? How is it possible that any defense or response system has failed?

 

The satellites are taken, the communications controlled by the enemy, and the Vice President turns to the only Private Investigator and ex-CIA, Jack Warden, with an impeccable record of zero failures in his services to the country, to help him understand what or who they are facing, and form a contingency and retaliatory offensive response plan. Jack will lead the efforts of the largest joint force of Intelligence and investigative resources ever formed to mitigate the damage caused and find those responsible.

They cannot, however, suspect that perhaps "The Day America Was Subdued," as it would later be known, would be but the first link in a chain that could lead to global annihilation. The end... of the human race and of life as we conceive it.

 

Marcel Pujol, in his Opera Prima, and which constitutes his eleventh published title, guides us along a path of madness and destruction in which there are a few humans who are sensitive to the flows of energies and interconnections between the different planes of the multiverse, which can be channeled with the purpose of bringing to our plane and our planet Earth, grotesque creatures as well as deadly (demons, salamanders, sylphs and Virtues) that will do whatever their summoner orders in order to return to their dimension.

A light explosion goes on in the distance, silent, then the shock wave goes to the camera. When it touches the espectator, a huge explosion sounds.

While running the fore credits (title, producer, director, actors, screenplay), it goes on a digital animation of the story of the universe, with choral gothic music, majestic.

HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE – Digital Animation

The immense light condenses into separated spots, then the POV approaches a cloud in the space, gets into it, the matter condenses into a brilliant white star, then the POV moves away to show that star among millions of stars, while new light points appear. Then it goes to another galaxy (the Milky Way), gets into one of its branches, where stars pass next to the POV. It approaches a planetary system (ours). Planets whirling very fast round the sun. The POV goes to the third one, red and shapeless though getting round shape, with comets colliding on its surface here and there.

Then it rounds up and gets the shape we all know and its color.

The POV dives into the atmosphere vertiginously, into Mexican-American border, through a cloud and inside the ceiling of a little town hotel.

INT. DIRTY HOTEL ROOM IN MEXICO – 4 PM

A 40-year-old, muscled, really good-looking man opens his eyes from a nightmare and sits on the bed abruptly. Mariachi music is heard in the background, very low. He’s got moustache and a shade of beard. He’s naked, all sweat up and breathing heavily.

He looks around to find out where he is. Looks at a barely 18 year old Mexican girl still sleeping at his side of the bed, her leg off the sheets. A bottle of Tequila a third filled on a table next to the bed on her side. The clothes of both are spread through the room’s floor. The air is heavy and dusty. He passes a hand through his face, calms down.
