How to Start a Restaurant: A Step-By-Step Guide
welcome to this do point of sale part managing a restaurant is definitely not the same as managing a shop or a store audio point of sale solution is quite versatile and can handle both of them indeed we need to be able to manage our tables
take the orders include clients specifications send those orders to the kitchen or to the bar split recipes and many other tasks even though our database is online based we can keep working offline when the connection is lost this can happen a lot when we are walking around the restaurant and taking orders from a distance still it's not a problem anymore thanks to
point of sale solution will get re-synchronized with our database later when we retrieve that connection in this part we will show you how to set up the pos to meet all of our expectations and be our best ally ready let's just dive into it alright we are back here in our back end and to access our point of sale we're gonna click on the application
we have created already a point of sale and to reach the settings as you may know you have to click on the three dots on the top right part and go to settings once you're here in the settings page you have to click on the button that it says it's a bar or a restaurant as we said before you can manage different point of sales at the same time restore a bar and
so to have all the options you have to click it here the first thing we're going to do is we're going to activate the floors and tables and that will allow us to create our floors the first one is we're going to create is the bar area and we're going to click on create and edit once you do that you're going to be brought to a new view and you can create tables in here the first one i'm going to create is the bar itself and i'm going to say it has 15 seats and i'm gonna create a new one that is gonna be a regular table with four seats
i'm gonna save and close and everything looks okay here i'm gonna save and close the device as well
the next thing i'm gonna activate is the internal nodes we want to activate this because we want to send notes or information from the person that is taking the order to the kitchen or to the bar as you may know customers have always very different requests when they make their orders
next thing we're going to talk about is the restrict product categories again you can have both pos sessions at the same time restored in a bar but you don't want all your products to appear at both of them so you can restrict which ones are going to appear in this case since we have a bar we just restricted for the beverage and food all right but you can edit all of them
you can add to your products and you can select here as you wish this is totally adjustable the next thing we're going to select is the large scroll bars and we're going to do that because we're going to use a tablet in our area and this makes it easier to scroll down through all our products when we are having it
next thing we are going to do is we are going to activate the order printer and we want to do that because we want to send the messages to the kitchen and i'm going to add the printer kitchen
so next thing we're going to do is we're going to activate the tips so we're going to scroll down a little bit and we're going to activate the tips here and since our company is really interested in having the tips we're going to activate both options here you can go ahead and check it out
the next thing we're going to do is scrolling down a little bit we're going to select the view printing and this will allow us to print the receipt before the payment if you don't activate this setting before the payment is done you cannot print the receipt all right and the bill's fleeting because after that you want to split the view with the people that are sitting on the table and this makes it very easy so everything seems to be set it correctly
i'm gonna save it never forget to save it and let's check it out how it looks like in the front end all right everybody we're here back in our back end we already accessed the point of sales and we're going to start a new section by clicking the button everything is going to be loading up and we're going to click on open session there you go actually everything starts in the same position and we're gonna adjust that right now so and whenever
you click on the pencil on the top right part you enter the edit mode and you can click on the table and move it around and as you can see the bar wasn't below it so we're gonna start by adjusting the bar we're gonna change the shape and size of it just to match the real bar that we have and we are going to change the color because our bar is with a reddish wood color and we like it red so we're going to leave it like that and regarding our tables we don't have only one table
so we can simply duplicate this table and create as much as we want so i have created three of them and i think you created too many tables that's true loredona thank you for the heads-up actually i have only two tables in my in my area so i'm gonna select one of them and i'm going to remove by clicking on the trashcan icon it will ask me to confirm
when i do it it vanishes from here the next thing i'm going to do is adjust the size of the tables just to match the correct size that we have in our area and i'm gonna add a new area to it so a new table that actually is not a table it is a stage area
so i'm gonna change the name i'm gonna click on the a on the top part of the edit and i'm gonna click right down stage area since it's a stage area where people is gonna be performing we're gonna change the size because it's a round area and we're gonna adjust the size so it can meet the criteria that we want around this area actually a lot of people can sit around and watch the show
so we're gonna edit the number of people that can sit down in there by clicking on the icon of a person on the top right part and we're going to say 100 persons i don't know they're going to be very tight but they don't mind they like the show so whenever you click there
you will see that the number of people that can see it in this area is adjusted and once you click on the pencil here you will be ready to send your waiter dodging tables getting orders sent into kitchen and making your customers happy

Creating a Product Line For Your Restaurant
welcome to this to do point of sale Part after this Part you will be reborn with this amazing knowledge of all our wonderful pos application you will know how to create a new product and perfectly organize your point of sale no more missing products or customers patiently waiting to find their items
after this Part your point of sale will be fully functional and easy to use we'll also learn how to trigger an optional product that might please your beloved customers and finally we'll see how variants appear during a session
so are you ready let's jump into it alright we are here at the back end and we're gonna start creating the product category in the pos and why we're gonna do that we're gonna do that because we want to find it easy our products
in our pos the first thing we have to do is go to the top right on the configuration and select the pos product categories as you can see we created already a lot but we are going to create one more so we're going to hit the button create on the left top part and the name category will be for nature because i think that's funny and we're going to select the parent category
as the dog parent category so it will be under the dog category you're gonna save it and we're gonna go back to the dashboard and now we're gonna create the most important part which is the product itself we're gonna go on the top menu on the products and select products once again and we are going to be brought back to the products view we are going to once again
click on create on the left top part and we are going to start by selecting the name of our product which is going to be called jungle's bed and we're gonna change it from consumable which is storable and that's why we want to keep track on how many units we have on stock and what's going to happen to them every time all right second thing we're going to change is the sales price
for example let's say it will cost 35.99 and this is the price that is going to show up immediately when we select the product in our pos next thing we're going to change is the cost itself which is let's say 20 euros this will help us with our margins and keeping track of our costs and the next thing
we're going to do is change the pictures on the top right side we're going to click on the little pen that appears when you're hovering on top of it and you're gonna find it on your computer and select the bed itself
so now we have a bear a very beautiful picture we're gonna go to the attribute and there is a category here filled here but they are not the same as we created before this one is related to the product itself in the back end and it helps to categorize the products no matter if they are on the pos or normal sales that doesn't appear on the pos they will always be categorized by this category and it does a lot of other things but we're not going to get into that configuration right now so but i will get there and i will show you loredana where we are going to set the category
we created in the product itself all right and we're going to go now to the new tab on the right that says attributes and variants and we're going to select a new attribute for this product let's say let's select the caller we have created up front but if you go to the configuration here you will see that we selected the color type and that the creation method would be instantly this means that whenever we save the product two new variants or attributes will be created for this product
so we're going to select here let's say the red and the blue okay but we're not going to stop right there we're going to create a new attribute as well which would be the size and on the sides if we look on the configuration just clicking here on this smart button we will see that the creation mode is set as never option
it won't create the variants automatically when we save the product but you will see what happens when we go to our pos front end so we are going to select here the s the m the l and the xl perfect now we are going to go to the next tab which is the sales and here we're going to create a optional product because i believe myself that whoever buys a bed for their furry dog it's also want to keep him warm
i'm going to offer them the soft blank that we have here i love dogs but this can be used for other purposes like warranties for example extended warranties or maintenance comprised to the product itself you can go and do whatever you want with it the next thing we're going to change is on the right side where it says point of sale we are going to adjust the category that
we just created in the beginning so here loredan is where we are going to select the dog furniture so we can see that if we type dog it will only appear the dog itself but if we click here we will find the furniture
and the next thing we're gonna do is we're gonna save and as you can see two variants appeared because as i told you before we selected two colors that would create instantly the variants before
we go there and we adjust the variant i want to show you this star over here this will help you to find the products very easily in your pos and if you just selected there you will see that it will stay start and you have a start product
now let's go to the variant and we are going to go and just edit a little bit the blue color that we created because as you can see since we added the picture in the main product the product is still in a red color and we don't want it to appear like that
so we're going to create click on edit we're going to hover the mouse over the picture click on the pencil again and we're going to find the new color of the blue bed there you go we're gonna save it and we're gonna go back to the dashboard because that seems to be enough for us to go to the demonstration on the front side
all right now that everybody everything is configured on the back end let's start the new section by clicking on the button you will have an option to open the section and you will see both of the products on the top as we expected we can select the furniture category on the top here and we will see only the badge that we created we can click on it a new pop-up window will appear and you can select the size of it it's the attributes that you selected that did not create the products immediately
i'm going to select the excel because i don't fit on the other sides so i'm going to edit and this beautiful window will pop up with a lot of information from your product and also the optional products that we set on the product page we can click on it and it will automatically filter the product
so we can select it and add it to the cart once we have everything here done we can proceed to the payment and everything will be set with the payment methods well this is it for now
How to Sell Your POS System to a Restaurant
iwill help you through the process opening a store is a huge step for any business owner as you probably already know and still to be as efficient as possible we need a great point of sale or pos that will support all of your needs whether we run a store or a restaurant or a bar it doesn't really help matter it helps you anyway and to that effect
we will need a complete setup of devices connected to a strong application of course such as udu and among these devices we need a computer or a tablet that runs our database and a screen that is to display it properly depending on your needs you can add more devices for example a printer
or several printers a payment terminal a barcode scanner a cash register or even a scale without further udu let me introduce you to our new shop the pet crown where your pet is crowned and guide you through a quick overview of uddu's point of sale solution through a complete sale to start your pos session you simply click on new session on your back end and by default udo will tell you what was the amount that you finished
your previous session with with money on your cash register in this case 150 and 75. when you click the open session you will have this amazing view which is all your products and everything you need for your pos and you're actually ready to start receiving customer speaking of our first client just came
to arrive there you go our client picked up three items in our store and they can differently they can be differently added in our order the first one is with a barcode and we can simply scan it and it will appear
here in this part of our pos the second one is a product that needs to be weighted and one way of finding it is using the search bar you can simply start writing the name of the product select it and it will directly connect to our scale when when we add the product there you will see that automatically the weight is added
here and you can click in order and it will appear on the next line of the order and the third item she shows its unit products
so it's small toys and you can also find it by going through our categories product categories in this case it's in the dog section and it's this item if you click it
it will appear only one but you can change it just using the numpad here so i added two and this is basically what we need to do to add all the products to our order
will have an option to create a new one you click here and depending on what's the information you need to add
you can simply type it there and save by doing that it will select it automatically and you can set it as a customer as you can see now everything is ready
to be paid you click simply simply in the payment button and you will see that you have a 7.42
