I want you to know that God is watching over you.

There is nothing in your life that God is not aware of.

There is no problem that God can’t reach.

There is no loved one He can’t touch,

And there is no circumstance going on in your life that He is not able to deal with.

The Bible says that God watches over the sparrow, and that He watches over you.

Bishop TD Jakes often reminds us that the Bible says that the hairs on your head are not counted, but instead they are numbered.

If they were counted, Jakes says, we would only know how many hairs there were;

They are numbered, which means God knows exactly which one felt.

God is so into you, that before you get down on your knees to pray, He’s already listening to you, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Matthew 6:8

God got His eye on you. He gave you Power, Authority, and Might over all things.

So it is time for you to know your authority and jurisdiction in the Realm of the Spirit.

It is time for you to take the Power He has given you to fight against the devilish spirits.

The Sword, the Divine Sword

There are over four hundred references to swords in the Bible.

In Deuteronomy 33:29, God Himself is called a Glorious Sword.

Swords in the Bible are often referred to physical swords:

- Jacob’s sons Simeon and Levi used swords to kill every male in a village whose leader have raped their sister (Genesis 34:25).

- After returning from exile, the builders of Jerusalem’s walls tie swords to their sides to prevent the Jews from rebuilding their homeland (Nehemiah 4:18).

- As a test, Solomon calls for a sword and orders his soldier to cut the baby in two in order to lay a trap for the two women claiming to be the mother of a baby (1 Kings 3:16-28).

Swords are sometimes used metaphorically in many places in the Bible:

- Falling by the sword meant being defeated in battle (Judges 4:16).

- Putting a city to the sword meant going to war against a city (Joshua 10:28).

- Bearing the sword described the government’s ability to punish evildoers (Rom. 13:4).

- Beating swords into plowshares described a glorious future of peace (Micah 4:3; Joel 3:10).

- Psalm 149:6 describes the praise of God as a double-edged sword.

- Hebrews 4:12 describes the Word of God as a two-edged sword. The Roman sword was commonly made as a two-edged sword. The two edges made it easier to penetrate, as well as to cut in every way. The idea is that of piercing, or penetrating. This explains that the Word of God reaches the very center of the heart, and lays open everything it touches. God has the ability to pierce and penetrate even the most stubborn person through His Word.

- Revelation 19:15 describes how out of the mouth of God comes a sword.

The sword sometimes represents punishment from God. Many places in the Bible tell us how God sometimes lifted His sword against Israel’s enemies or Israel itself when the people fall prey to sin (Exodus 32:27; 1 Samuel 31:4; 1 Chronicles 21:27; Psalm 149:6: Proverbs 5:4; Ezekiel 16:40 ; 21:3-5).

In other times, the sword is figured significantly in biblical events:

- The sword of Goliath the Philistine (1 Samuel 21:9)

- The sword of Israel’s left-handed judge Ehud (Judges 3:16)

- The sword Peter used to try to free Jesus from his captors, the sword which Jesus told him to put down (John 18:1-11).

- An Angel was placed with a flaming sword to guard the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:24).

- Before the battle of Jericho Joshua saw an angel with a drawn sworn in his hand (Joshua 5:13).

- Luke 22:36 says, …if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.

- Genesis 3:24 says that the Angel had a flaming sword to guard the way to the tree of life in Eden.

- Ephesians 6:17 teaches that the sword of the Spirit is the Word of God.

- Hebrews 4:12 (KJV) speaking of swords says the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword.

The sword was the primary weapon of warfare throughout the ancient world. As such, it became the primary symbol of warfare in general. The Israelites put [cities] to the sword (Deuteronomy 13:14 NIV), and smote them with the edge of the sword (Numbers 21:24 KJV).

The defeated enemy was cut . . . down with swords (Jeremiah 19:7).

Warfare was part of day-to-day life in the ancient world, so Isaiah prophesied that in the end times people would beat their swords into plowshares and not lift up swords against other nations (2:4) was significant.

When the new heaven and the new earth come, we will no longer need weapons and swords, since no evil or warfare will exist. The sword is a symbol for anything that inflicts injury to others, including the tongue (Psalm 57:4; Proverbs 12:18), and the actions of a promiscuous woman (Proverbs 5:4).

Those who exploit the poor are described as having teeth like swords as they metaphorically devour their victims (Proverbs 30:14). A false witness is like a sword in the hand of an unjust prosecutor (Proverbs 25:18).

The Difference between the

Sword and the Word

In the New Testament, God’s Word is symbolized by a sword: It is sharper than any two-edged sword and cuts as deep as the place where soul and spirit meet, the place where joints and marrow meet. God’s word judges a person’s thoughts and intentions (Hebrews 4:12).

The Word of God is able to penetrate someone’s heart in the same way as a sword with precision and in a way that inflicts pain. Like the sword does, we are able to take up the Word of God as a weapon to use in our battles against Satan. The sword is a symbol representing the power of God to fight the influences of evil and bring people to repentance, for it has divine power to destroy strongholds. (2 Cor 10:4 ESV)

Jesus successfully repelled Satan’s attacks by quoting the Word of God to him. Each time the devil tempted Him, Jesus responded to the attacks with the Word of God:

It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ (Matthew 4:4)

It is also written, ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’ (Matthew 4:7)

It is written, ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’ (Matthew 4:10)

After the third Scripture, Jesus said that the devil left him, and angels came and attended him (Matthew 4:11).

Prophet Lovy Elias, the prophet of Simi Valley, California, explains in his teaching titled The Flaming Sword that you can take something physical and turn it into something that can be used spiritually, like the staff of Moses that was physical and he used it spiritually. Moses held his physical staff over the water to part the Red Sea. So when the Bible says our weapons of warfare, Prophet Elias affirms, it means that you can take something that is physical and turn it into something that can be used spiritually.

For instance, anointing oil is olive oil, he says. Prophet Lovy took as an example your sacrifice, for instance, your sacrifice is physical, but it does something in the spiritual Realm. He took baptism as another example, he says that the water is physical, but when you get baptized with the water physically, it becomes something else in the spiritual Realm.

Prophet Lovy teaches, when fighting in the spiritual Realm, we have to know which weapon to use and how to use it. For instance when Daniel prayed to God, God answered his prayer. But there was the prince of the power of the air that withstood what was to come from heaven for Daniel not to come through. When Angel Gabriel came to deliver what Daniel had asked God, he was resisted to penetrate into the atmosphere where Daniel was until Angel Michael stepped in. (Daniel 10:13)

Therefore, understand Children of God, God may be sending you something you have asked for, but if you don’t know how to fight in the Realm of the Spirit, what you have asked for, or your Miracle, or your destiny may be delayed, because you are fighting the wrong way, perhaps with the wrong weapon. And yet, if you are fighting in the Spiritual Realm, are you using the right means to fight fallen angels that is a different fight from fighting devils. Moreover, fighting with unclean spirits, evil spirits, devils and demons are different fights.

The Lord Jesus was arrested and they were taking Him to crucify Him, and Jesus said a very interesting statement, he said don’t you know I can ask my father for twelve legions of angels to get me out of this mess…
