About this ebook

FROM THE CRADLE TO THE CROSS presents a collection of poems which speak to the birth of Christ in one batch and in the next batch capture scenes which uplift the cross on which He had been crucified. For the professing Christian, the hope of these humble efforts embodies this poet’s desire to further assure you that you have come to believe in the One He sent (John 6:29), and that is the most important aspect of your work. As one as God grants each one of us breath, I pray that we can continue to grow. For the one who has not yet surrendered his life unto the Lord, perhaps He can reach out to you in one of these many poems. To live eternally with the Lord Jesus Christ will prove forever that one had made the best of all right choices.

Frederick Mundle

Frederick Mundle adds his third book of poetry entitled Naked Christians to his list of Christian publications with Xlibris. He addresses elements within the body of professing Christians which require being called out. His hope is to awaken the naked who do not realize that they walk about without the clothing of Christ. His desire combines the alerting and converting the otherwise spiritually dead to awaken them to eternal life in Christ. Most self-professing Christians do not realize that they parade around spiritually naked, not being clothed with Christ. It is Frederick's hope to through the power of the Holy Spirit in Jesus name to raise the spiritually dead before they actually physically die. There is no eternal life with Christ unless the foregoing occurs.

    Introduction

From the Cradle to the Cross embodies a series of poems relating to the coming or Jesus, His arrival, His trials as an infant, and among other things circa His birth, the struggles of His parents at the threatening hands of King Herod. As well, another special series of poems deals with Jesus path to the cross, His crucifixion, and among other poems, His resurrection.

All other poems in this collection relate to the Lord in one way or another. Some speak to salvation, the new birth, the second death which is not for true believers, and the great wonder which is uppermost in most Christian minds of today: Are we so near the end that the end and the wonderful catching up is more imminent that we can comprehend?

In closing, may the Lord quicken any reader unto the absolute truth of the gospel, so much so that God will empower that particular reader to do unto the Lord any and all that he/she bdcomes more willing to do. May God quicken unto you as a reader a message He has imbedded in whatever poem you read so that you can enjoy till He returns the essence of your first love: Jesus.

    Acknowledgements

I acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, sent by the Father to become a blood sacrifice to save the souls of all who would come to believe in Him. That all who would come to believe in Him would not perish but would come to inherit eternal life. I acknowledge His healing ministry is still active today and that I have been healed by Him as well as delivered by Him. I have experienced His gift of salvation, His healing touches, seen some of His miraculous works with my own eyes. I have seen many of His nine gifts of the Spirit (if not all) at work in several ministries as well as in our own. I have also witnessed His enemy and my enemy, Satan, at work in modern-day ministries through the evil works of false Christians. My belief is such that His word as recorded in the Holy Scriptures is the holy, inerrant, infallible word of God. I also acknowledge that what I might not understand clearly since I see as through a glass darkly will be revealed to me in eternity. I understand and believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

In my secondary acknowledgements, I attribute honour and appreciation to my wife Sarah Ann Mundle and all the greatness that God has bestowed upon her.

I will till the day I die acknowledge that God’s grace will grant unto all of our children ample opportunity to be saved and that He has currently returned one and her entire family to the cross of Christ. They currently live a life of practicing Christians. I acknowledge that as a miracle of God who called them through His Son Jesus Christ.

    The Birth

Long ago there came to man one born of virgin birth

Sent to work His Father’s plan to give us second birth

Isaiah saw with his own eyes long before His coming

This Son, the Saviour, on the rise as well, His second coming

Immanuel, God with us his name long past announced

When born they called Him Jesus His name was thus pronounced

Gabriel, God’s messenger bore from God His news

Suddenly surprising her ‘twas was Mary God did choose

The wise men found the manger in
