Determining the degrees in your astrological chart is essential for a comprehensive understanding of Western astrology. In Western astrology, horoscope charts are circular, encompassing 360 degrees and divided into 12 equal segments representing signs and houses. Each of these sections consists of 30 degrees, and astrologers use a range of 0 to 29 degrees, not 1 to 30. Furthermore, each degree is further divided into minutes and seconds, spanning from 00.00 to 29.59 within a sign, always counted anticlockwise.

For instance, if we consider the notation 14° 23′ 33″, it indicates the Sun positioned at 14 degrees, 23 minutes, and 33 seconds in the sign of Aries. Every degree in the 360-degree circle potentially corresponds to a planet, cusp, or other significant point.
