Your Ultimate Guide to Natural Hair Oils - Gloria Moreno
INTRODUCTION
In this book we're going really deep into the majestic world of natural oils to unlock the secrets to healthier, happier and more beautiful hair. If you want a hair that stands out, feels like silk, and smells like a tropical paradise, then you will love this book.
Have you ever stood in the hair care aisle, staring at shelves full of products promising miracles in a bottle, only to find yourself confused and uncertain of what to buy? Believe me, I've been there too. But do not worry, because we are going to demystify the world of hair care and expose you to the amazing world of natural oils.
In this book, we'll look at 60 different oils that can transform your hair from dull to luscious. That's right, 60 oils! From coconut to argan, jojoba to castor, we're explaining the best hair oils.
We aren't just going to talk about what each oil is; that would be too easy. We'll look into the amazing qualities of each oil to see what it can do for your gorgeous locks. Whether you're dealing with hair loss, frizz, breakage, or simply want to add shine to your hair, there's an oil for you.
We'll also learn how to make each of these oils in the comfort of our own home. That's right, no more paying high prices for small bottles of product; with a few simple components and a little knowledge, you can create your own personalized hair oil suited for what you need at the moment.
And after our oils are all prepared and bottled, we'll get into the specifics of how to use them. From scalp massages to deep conditioning treatments, we'll look at all possible ways that you can include these wonder oils into your hair care routine for the best results.
But first, who am I? I'm Gloria Moreno, a hair care researcher. Like many of you, I've spent many years trying all kinds of products and treatments, hoping to find the ultimate hair care solution for my hair. It wasn't easy. I've experienced many setbacks and triumphs along the road.
But one thing has never changed: my fondness for natural oils. There's something really great about using ingredients fresh from Mother Nature to nourish and help your hair. I want to transmit that knowledge and affection to each and every one of you.
Are you ready to say goodbye to bad hair days? If so, let's dive right into the amazing world of natural hair oils. Your hair will thank you, I promise.
1. COCONUT OIL
BENEFITS
● Deep Conditioning
● Moisturizes Hair
● Prevents Protein Loss
● Promotes Hair Growth
● Soothes Scalp Irritation
● Adds Shine
● Protects Against Damage
● Reduces Frizz
● Reduces Dandruff
● Strengthens Hair
● Natural Detangler
HOW TO MAKE
● Crack open a fresh coconut using a hammer or a heavy object.
● Carefully pull the white meat from the shell using a knife. You can grate it into small shreds or chop into little pieces.
● Place the extracted coconut meat in a blender and process until it becomes a smooth, creamy paste. If it looks slightly dry, add a little bit of warm water.
● Pour the blended coconut over a cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer placed over a bowl. Squeeze till you get as much milk as possible.
● Pour the squeezed coconut milk into a clean glass jar or container and wait for a few hours, or even overnight. The coconut oil will separate from the milk and float to the top.
● You will see a creamy layer floating on top of the coconut milk. This is your coconut oil! Carefully skim out the oil and transfer it to a separate container.
● Cover your container and keep it in a cold, dry area, such as a pantry or bathroom cupboard.
HOW TO USE
● You can use coconut oil on dry or somewhat damp hair. Just be careful not to get your hair too damp, since this may affect how well the oil penetrates.
● Coconut oil solidifies at room temperature, so warm it up before applying it to your hair. Take a small amount of oil and rub it between your palms until it melts and becomes smooth and silky.
● Section your hair so you get even distribution. Apply the oil to your scalp and rub it through your strands from root to tip.
● As you apply the coconut oil, massage your scalp. It improves circulation and encourages growth of hair.
● After completely coating your hair with coconut oil, leave it on for a few hours (or even overnight!) for a deep conditioning treatment. If you're short on time, leave it for at least 30 minutes to an hour.
● Get in the shower and shampoo your hair, making sure to remove all the oil. You may need to shampoo twice to make sure that all residue is removed.
DID YOU KNOW:
Hair is mostly made of keratin, a protein found in animal hooves, feathers, and horns.
2. ARGAN OIL
BENEFITS
● Deep Moisturization
● Softens and Smoothens
● Scalp Health
● Frizz Control
● Heat Protection
● Environmental Protection
● Lightweight
● Strengthens Hair
● Adds Shine
● Promotes Manageability
HOW TO MAKE
● Argan kernels can be found inside the Argan tree fruit. If you don't have an Argan tree in your garden, check for kernels online or at specialty stores.
● Gently hit the kernels with a hammer or a nutcracker to crack them open . Make sure not to smash the kernels so you can extract the oil!
● There are several methods for extracting oil from kernels. The most popular is cold pressing. Simply put the broken kernels in a clean cloth or cheesecloth and press out the oil. You may also use a mechanical press.
● To remove sediment or contaminants, pour the oil through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth. You want your Argan oil to be as pure as possible!
● Pour the oil into a clean glass bottle or jar and keep it in a cold, dark place out of direct sunlight.
HOW TO USE
● Make sure you have dry and clean hair.
● For the pre-shampoo treatment, divide your hair into sections and add a few drops of oil to each. Massage the oil into your scalp, coat your hair from root to tip. Keep the oil on for at least 30 minutes.
● For leave-in conditioner, apply a small amount of oil to the palms of your hands and rub them together to warm it up. Gently run your hands through your hair, concentrating on the mid-lengths and ends. Avoid using too much oil.
● To add shine and control frizz, warm a small amount of oil between your palms and lightly distribute it over your hair. Pay special attention to any places that require particular care.
DID YOU KNOW:
The average person's scalp contains between 100,000 and 150,000 hair follicles.

BENEFITS
● Deep Moisturization
● Scalp Health and Hygiene
