    Firstly, I want to thank all the volunteers who allowed me into their minds. They knew that my work was experimental, but despite that, they had the courage to proceed further.     1. Vocabulary Definition

    Since language is a form of transferring knowledge, it’s important to understand key terms before we begin. Below are definitions of words used later in the book.

    Homo: Latin abbreviation referring to humans of either sex; genus.

    Brain: The organ inside the head that controls the mind, memory, feelings, and activities.

    Memory: The brain’s ability to remember information, experiences, and people.

    Mind: Brain activity related to the calculation of something.

    Thinking: Mind activity related to possibilities or making decisions.

    Cognitive: Related to both conscious and unconscious thinking.

    Conscious: Awake thinking and awareness of what is happening around a person.

    Unconscious: Autonomous (not awake) thinking about what is happening around a person.

    Behavior: The way in which one acts in a space, especially towards others.

    Pattern: A particular way in which something is done, organized, or happens.

    Abusive: Using something to a bad effect or for a bad purpose; misuse.

    Perception: Mind activity related to processing events through physical senses (sight, etc).
