About this ebook
Dale Perrault, born Dale Edward Sullivan, was raised in the Heartland of Florida. Dale's mother was born developmentally and physically disabled, taken advantage of by his "sperm donor", leaving him in the care of less than desirable members of his birth family. He was given the last name Driver at the age of nine, and ultimately aged out of the foster care system after living in twenty-three homes, by the age of eighteen. During his adolescence, Dale was abused physically and sexually, in exchange for drugs. He lived in abusive foster placements, one including a home where the family kept locks on the refrigerator and food pantry. Dale grew up enjoying "all things" theatrical, including writing, and showcasing the pageantry of the arts. He ended up marrying his high school sweetheart shortly after graduation, having two children, and working in ministry. Dale knew he couldn't hide his sexuality long enough to raise a family, and came out as gay, at the age of twenty-eight. He met his, now, ex-husband soon after divorcing his ex-wife, and took the last name Perrault at the time of their marriage. His final foster placement, the family he considered his "forever home", officially adopted him at the age of thirty-three, a long awaited "gift" presented to him at his senior graduation. During the global pandemic in 2020, Dale was struck by lightning, fired from three real estate companies, and spent twenty-two hours in jail, after trying to leave his ex-husband for the final time. He cut ties with his adopted family and was no longer allowed to see, nor speak to his children. Dale was pretty sure he had hit his rock bottom, until he faced his struggles with addiction, a journey he began at the age of six. After being date raped, Dale finally decided to get sober, and has maintained his sobriety with the help of AA and his sponsor for almost two years. Dale credits a therapist, he chose willingly in 2016, for helping him get on the right path. He went through conversion therapy as a kid, and as an adult, among other religious therapies against his will. Dale's career has been quite "colorful", as he has worked in many arenas professionally. After working in ministry, Dale held leadership and marketing positions in the franchise world. He worked as a professional ballroom dancer, and owner/choreographer of a competitive dance studio. He has worked as a music manager for several artists. He has assisted with philanthropic endeavors for major companies throughout the US, always having a giving heart, regardless of his upbringing and circumstances. Prior to publishing his first book, "My Fucked Up Fairytale", Dale successfully led several real estate companies, increasing recruitment, retention, and profit beyond company goals. He has received many awards for his accomplishments and non-profit involvement. During his career, Dale has resided in Nashville, San Francisco bay area, Chicago, and Palm Beach. He currently resides in Los Angeles where he is working on four other publications, expected to hit the market in 2024. Publications include a self-help book and children's trilogy.

Welcome To The World
Once Upon A Time, circa 1984
Welcome to the world, you little bastard! Unfortunately, we are not given the option of choosing the families we are born into, and the universe did you dirty! Your mom was born developmentally and physically disabled and was taken advantage of by your sperm donor when she lived in a girl's home. He was a part of a work program with the prison at the time, yes, he was an inmate. Lol. Anyways, you're the product of that! You're welcome:) And welcome...
Not only are those your parents, but you are being born into a family with some deeply fucked up generational trauma that you will be subjected to. You see, for obvious religious reasons, your Southern Baptist family didn't believe in abortion, so they kept the fucked up tradition alive. Enter you! Now because of your mom's situation and the fact that you are a bastard child, there are only two options.
1) Be adopted out privately(obviously the best option that we should NOT choose), or 2) Become an owned bitch by the State of Florida and raised in the middle of bumfuck nowhere.
If you chose the second option, congratulations! You’ve been selected to begin your fucked up fairytale about love, sex, and sobriety.
Your mom believed you were a gift from God and wanted you more than anything in the world. Because she couldn't raise you, she decided to put herself in a home and give guardianship to your grandma. She thought that way she could see you often and still be your mom
.
Here's the tea regarding the birth family...
First of all, your family is poor as fuck! Like taking a bath in the river, poor. Your grandma got married at like 15 years old to some asshole, an abusive addict who was much older. She got pregnant with your mom at 17 years old, after being raped. The asshole husband took it out on your grandma throughout her entire pregnancy, hence the issues with your mom. They had three kids after that, two boys and another girl, I guess so he could subject more victims to abusive love
that he definitely came from himself. Luckily, that cocksucker dies shortly after your birth, so you dodge at least one bullet. Don't worry though, grandma can't raise you alone, because she's got secrets, so you become heavily accessible to your Hills Have Eyes family and their nasty friends.
I don’t know what God or the universe was thinking, but I find it hysterical that you, your mom, and your grandma share the trinity
of rape trauma. The sexual abuse you undergo, beginning at such a young age, along with the torture and physical abuse...who wouldn’t want to sign up for this journey?! But as you’ll learn, "God doesn’t give to those what they cannot handle", so that is fucking fantastic! At least you were aware from the start that you were born into shit, handed shit, and knew you were better than sitting in the shit.
That awareness leads you to whitewash the fuck out of your life just so you can survive, and that's ok! You'll chase after the wrong people, places, and things(hehe), but honestly, that's the addiction causing you to believe some stupid shit(and our brain has that covered already). Oh yeah, you got addicted young baby...drugs were needed to fuck you as a kid, and you decided that shit was good...but hey, you live some pretty awesome lives, and the lessons you learn will lead you to living free from all that shit.
It’s hard for people to process someone else’s trauma so you learn to hide your truth to fit in. You will hurt people because of this and it’s true what they say, hurt people, hurt people. But you also attract what you are and you’ll learn that after many bridges are burned. Most for necessary reasons. Importantly, you will learn honesty is the best policy so you may live an authentic life!
It only takes you living in twenty-three different homes before aging out of the foster care system, two failed marriages, coming out as a homosexual, an adult adoption, a global pandemic, getting struck by lightning, and going to jail...all while maintaining a secret addiction to sex and ALL the drugs and alcohol, before realizing that doing the same thing over again, expecting different results, leads you to nowhere but
