    I think this was a really bad idea, Dani said.

    She was the last of the group to squeeze past the rusted and broken gate and enter the ancient cavernous building. Her three friends had already pushed their way past the gate before she could work up the nerve. Ben, Andy, and Mark were always the ones to initiate the little group’s shenanigans. At sixteen years old the four of them had been on some amazing and harebrained adventures.

    You said that when we got into the storm drains in Sterling Heights, Andy said laughing. And that turned out okay.

    Okay? she asked incredulously. She was half way through the gap in the gate. Ben got attacked by a giant rat and we all ended up with the flu! Then Mark thought he had dysentery and was convinced he was going to die! she hissed.

    All four of the teenagers froze, and then devolved into hysterical laughter.

    And when we were sneaking him back into his house he hurled in the neighbors birdbath! Andy said doubling over and wiping his eyes.

    Then he started yelling ‘fly to me my feathered children and feed!’ until we dragged him into the shed and shut him up! Ben added, tears running down his cheeks.

    Hey! Mark hissed, those birds still fucking love me!

    His three friends were all reduced to lumps of laughing and wheezing humanity for a full minute after that.

    Alright, Andy said wiping his eyes and regaining control of himself. Are we ready to see what we can see? he asked giving his classic Vincent Price grin and voice combo to the rest of them.
