About this ebook

Civilization is built like a card tower; the slightest disturbance topples it.
No matter how exquisite it seems, it is still flimsy.

Demalion is the last remnant of civilization, the last member of Steam Engine.
A group created to renew civilization, but has such effort ended in failure?

The Earth as we know it no longer exists, which makes me ask…
What good is a world that goes on forever? Everything has its end.

The myth of Demalion fills these pages, what is to become of him?
Is he truly alone, or is there someone else out there…?

    1. Civilization Once

What good is a world that goes on forever? Especially a world like this one, subject to chaos

    Now you may be asking,

what brings down civilization this time? Civilization’s own hand

    With diversity comes danger,

    seeing others as different

    and consider them threat…

    They are not

In the end we are all the same,

    regardless of race or religion

or age or ability or anything really

    …Try telling that

to those who can’t be reasoned with,

those whose minds will never be swayed

    I say this to you,

even if certain people never see this book,

others will… Like you, the reader

    So let me set scene,

civilization is brought down by its own hand, confined to dust-gathered myth

What remains as testament to civilization is heavily irradiated, uninhabitable to almost all things

Of course, there are such things which can withstand the end of world…

    Neither here nor there

Sure, you suggest someone could adapt to irradiated remnants, to which I say good luck

    Oxygen is poisonous,

    no thanks to incessant pollution

    and gas-guzzle emission… Etcetera

    One cannot breathe

    without use of external device,

oxygen mask coupled with rebreather… Mm

    Canisters are in short supply,

    though rebreather helps mitigate

    needing to search…

    Or something

    Toxins in the air,

toxins in the earth, toxins in the people…

Too many toxins to tally in tandem

Finding a cemetery suitable for civilization collectively, I cannot believe this happened…
