About this ebook
If you think (or want to think) you are an "A" player, this book will either prove you are as good as you think – or demonstrate that you need to work harder. These series of layouts require excellent pocketing skills – and strong positioning abilities.
For shooters who are seriously striving to reach that level, this book is a critical part of your training regimen. The sequence of these layouts either confirms your ability, or demonstrates a weakness to be fixed. Every layout requires that you make the ball - then get into position for the second ball.
Every layout shows the positions of the cue ball, 1 ball, and 2 ball. You only need to pocket the one ball and then the two ball - very simple and easy to understand. But, these are not ordinary problems, every starting position for the cue ball and 1 ball was a problem facing a professional player in national and international competitions.
Study this material in two steps. In the comfort of your home, review the layout, and carefully consider your options. How can you solve the problem? What speed and spin is needed? Are there multiple solutions? Write down your ideas. Then, take this to the practice table, and see if your solutions are possible. Learn from your failures and make adjustments.
And, once you learn how, repeat several times. It is very important to consistently complete the setup.
This book will challenge your abilities, a source of many frustrations, and the joyful experiences of successful accomplishments.
Enjoy the challenge and the satisfaction of success!

Advanced Cue Ball Control Self-Testing Program - Allan P. Sand
Introduction
Are you good enough to be an A
player? Want to know if your shooting and positioning skills can compete against the top players? The layouts in this book provide a series of common but difficult shots that require excellent pocketing skills with strong cue ball positioning abilities.
Successfully making both object balls in these layouts is proof positive that you are ready to break into the upper ranks. You can hold your own against the aristocracy of the pool playing world.
What if you are not yet ready? Periodically setting up and playing these shots will be an excellent validation that you are improving over time.
These are not drills or exercises to shoot over and over in order to master or fine-tune one or more skills. These are reality-based tests of your current competence. Many of these shots could be beyond your present-day skills. Set those shots aside for three to six months. Mark those pages or make a copy.
Study this material in two steps. In the comfort of your favorite easy-chair or recliner, review each table layout and thoughtfully consider your options. How would you play the shot? What would be the minimum speed and spin to make the shot work? Are there other ways to make the shot work? Make notes about your assumptions, possibilities, and considerations.
To continue developing yourself as an Intelligent Shooter – you have to get past the fooling around
stage of your playing career and get serious
