Matters of the Heart Edition 3: 3rd Edition, #3

About this ebook
We carry the weight of anticipated gestures, the hope for reciprocated kindness, and the dream of a life untouched by disappointment. But reality has a way of unfolding, indifferent to our expectations, and we stand at the crossroads of our past, present, and future, subject to the hands of both God and ourselves. This book, Matters of the Heart Edition 3, is a journey into the depths of my struggles, traumas, and pains. It's a narrative I never envisioned sharing with the world. Yet, prompted by the guiding whispers of the Holy Spirit, I embark on this candid exploration. In its pages, I've laid bare my truths, confronting the shadows that dance in the corners of my consciousness.
We often clutch onto the past, wielding it as a weapon to momentarily alleviate our pain. Yet, the weight we carry is ours to bear, influencing not just our emotional well-being but extending its tendrils into our health, finances, and spiritual equilibrium.
In the honesty and vulnerability of these pages, I've discovered a therapeutic solace, a form of self-examination that grants healing and relief from the burdens that threaten to crush the spirit. I confess: I do not wish to broadcast my struggles to the world. The act of waking up one day and deciding to pen Matters of the Heart Edition 3 wasn't born out of personal ambition. Instead, it's a response to a higher calling—a nudge from the Comforter and Closest Friend, the Holy Spirit. Within these chapters lie the narratives of battles won, and those still raging. It's a testament to the healing power of honesty and the resilience found in confronting our pain head-on. In baring my soul, I am not for self-pity but for the possibility that my journey might illuminate a path for another soul shrouded in darkness. As I navigate my healing, it's impossible to ignore the broader tapestry of human suffering. Each day, we lose individuals to circumstances beyond our control—depression, suicide, sexual harassment, and human trafficking.

DEDICATION
I dedicate this book to my dearest and closest friend, my ultimate guide, the Holy Spirit. Thank you for being my constant source of strength and inspiration as I embark on the journey of sharing my personal story with the world. Your guidance and presence have empowered me to navigate the depths of my heart and bring forth this sensitive narrative with courage and authenticity. I also extend my gratitude to all those who have supported and believed in me along this path. Your encouragement has been a beacon of light, illuminating my way through the shadows of doubt and fear. May this book serve as a testament to the transformative power of faith and the unwavering love of the Holy Spirit. Through Him, we find solace in times of trial, hope in moments of despair, and healing in brokenness.
(Isaiah 61:1-3 NLT)
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me because the Lord has appointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the broken-hearted and to announce that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord's favor has come, and with it, the day of God's anger against their enemies. To all who mourn in Israel, he will give beauty for ashes, joy instead of mourning, and praise instead of despair. The Lord has planted them like strong and graceful oaks for His glory.
FOREWORD
Dear Readers,
Psalm 18:28 For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness
There I was attending a business forum when the two people I was specifically there to speak to, caught my eye, huddled as they were in a less busy corner of the room. They were engaging with someone who was at one the same vivid yet had a peaceful and humble energy about her. This conundrum piqued my curiosity. So, I maneuvered my way over to them, intending to wait unobtrusively while they finished their conversation. As I am quite a busybody, I inevitably leaned in a bit closer to hear what was being said by the trio. What I heard was: Oh, we must get a copy of your book!
"Book? I thought excitedly,
she is a writer. I must speak with her too!" Because that is something I hope one day to say about myself and, even more so, to say I am a Published Author.
Please do note the capital letters, it is quite an achievement. Nevertheless, I was there to engage with the other two people of the trio and had to focus my attention there. Yet, I determined once
I finished with that, I would make my second, unplanned, approach of the afternoon. The urge to speak to a Published Author was real and very persistent.
Alas! The event finished before I was quite done, and the crowd dispersed quickly. Disconsolately standing at the top of the stairs, ready to beat my retreat, I turned back to thank the hosts for their magnificent event. Only to find Ms. Patience Sakutukwa standing not far away, admiring the most beautiful faux wedding cake. And so it was, with a gleeful heart, that I first met Patience. And we hit if off immediately!
Now, it should be said that Patience and I are different – in some ways even very different. First off, I am not yet a Published Author (otherwise I would be boasting to the rooftops), I am in S’Affer venac an uMlungu (white person), I am a bit older (ok, quite a bit older!),
I am Jewish, I am an attorney and a politician – which are inarguably the two most reviled occupations - and, to top it all off, I cannot sing.
However, here’s how we are similar: both committed to servant leadership (the other side of the attorney/politician coin), both religious, both multi-gifted by G-d, and both excessively curious about the world we live in, and its people.
The thing with Patience though – and where she far outstrips me – is just how prolific she has been in her theological career. From writing film scripts to books (yes, plural!), hosting vlogs, appearing on stage at a multitude of events, preaching, and singing, the busyness that is Patience is awe-inspiring.
Patience has been gifted with what is seemingly an unending supply of energy, and I believe that is because she is lit from within by a G-dly and the Holy Spirit. This energy shines through her every word, whether spoken or written, every gesture and every expression.
With formidable courage Patience shines a light on her own experiences so that you too can know, in your own heart and soul, that you are not alone. Furthermore, what makes reading Matters of the Heart
a must, is that Patience shines her G-dly light on the path out of the darkness for you, with you.
By openly sharing her experiences, Patience provides a nascent hope, the first glimmer of healing that gently beckons, that whispers: "Follow me for G-d has shown me and I will show you through His Word your path".
––––––––
Patience supplies the torch light and a map and holds your hand until you too are basking in His Marvelous Light. After a chat over coffee and a pastry (another difference - I’ve got a sweet tooth), I am always energized, hopeful and happy. I hope and pray that you too enjoy Patience’s company as you read her truly marvelous book.
Enjoy!
