    Photographic Memories - Melodie Yvonne

    Eight Ways to Nein

Falling down is not a failure. Failure comes when you stay where you have fallen.

    - Socrates

To sell your soul is the easiest thing in the world. That's what everybody does every hour of his life. If I asked you to keep your soul - would you understand why that's much harder?

    - Ayn Rand

    BACON *IS* SELF CARE

    - Melodie Yvonne

    Broken Heart

You gave me the love I never had,

and also the hope to shine.

You made me believe the whole world,

if I wanted, would be mine.

    I remember being with you.

    It seems so long ago.

I wish I could hold you in my arms,

    and never let you go.

The gift of life you gave me,

and the memories we’ll always share,

gave me all the hope I needed

    to know that people care.

Now all of the things are gone.

You said you were still my friend.

You left me alone without a word,

and my broken heart to mend.

    For Me

You’re the one I’ll always have,

    but I never will.

For you I’ll always have a need,

    that you cannot fulfill.

I could never give you all

    that you have given me,

but you could never make my dreams

be what they need to be.

I wake up in the night,

and think of what we’ve had.

    In everything we’ve ever shared,

    there’s nothing that’s not sad.

    I’m sorry I can’t make you happy.

    I’m sorry we’ll never be,

but being with you isn’t right.

It’s not the best for me.

    Mirror Images

I look in the mirror and all I see

is a person staring back at me.

A person I will never know,

whose feelings she will never show.

A vision that is never true,

as mirrors will sometimes lie to you.

The girl I see will never be

a friend to you or friend to me.

I look a while and then I go

    wondering why I’ll never know.

This girl I guess I never knew.

Do you know the one looking back at you?

    I Need You

    I need you today

as the rain falls from the sky.

    I need you today

as tears fall from my eye.

    I need you tonight

    as visions fill my head.

    I need you tonight

as I lay in my bed.

    I need you tomorrow

as I wake from my sleep.

    I need you tomorrow,

but my feelings I will keep.

    I need you forever

    as lonely as I seem,

    and I’ll need you forever

as my heart will always dream.

    Delightful Lies

I wish I were not so EXTRAORDINARY.

When I stroll by, people drop what they are doing,

    just to catch a glimpse.

Mankind flock to me like maggots to raw meat.

    When I speak, EVERYONE listens.

They all want to be me.

If I were to die, the world would mourn forever.

My close friends would kill themselves,

    just to be with me.

There would be thousands of biographies,

    written about me.

    I would replace GOD.

The Meanest Thing I Ever Did

The meanest thing I ever did

was feed my sister to a squid

or when I ran away from home

and conquered all the men in Rome

I rode an elephant to the beach

and stole a fruit stand vendor’s peach

I hit my father in the head

I broke my older sister’s bed

I made my mom a birthday cake

but took it out before it baked

I threw away my cousin’s cat

I told my uncle he was fat

I put whipped cream in Grandma’s shoe

I fed my puppy super glue

but out of ALL the things I’ve done

I think the one that was most fun

    was when I – OOPS!

    I can’t tell YOU yet!

    A Recurring Dream

I had a dream when I was young,

I drove my freezer to the sun,

and there I met a small green man, while I layed out
