About this ebook

Patrick's eyes lit up when he saw the bridesmaids making their way down the aisle. Jocelyn had no family, so some of her friends and a couple of Patrick's close female friends, Sarah and Emily, had gladly taken on the roles of bridesmaids.

And then, there she was, Jocelyn, radiant and captivating. She wore an elegant white gown that flowed like a cascade of silk, accentuating her grace and beauty. Her hair was neatly styled, adorned with delicate flowers that complemented her natural charm.

As Jocelyn drew nearer, Patrick couldn't take his eyes off her. He was mesmerized by her beauty and filled with the overwhelming love and joy that this special moment brought. The smile on his face grew even wider as she approached the altar, ready to begin this new chapter of their lives together.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we have gathered here today to celebrate the love and commitment of Jocelyn and Patrick. They have chosen to embark on this beautiful journey together, and we are privileged to bear witness to their union." The Officiant said

Could This Be Love - Francine Mason

    Book Blurb

Then, in the dead of night, his phone rang, shattering the silence of his room. Groggily, he reached for it, the screen illuminating his face with an eerie glow. It was the girl who had unravelled the secrets of the past, and her voice was trembling with fear.

Patrick, please, you have to help me! she pleaded, her voice quivering. Someone's in my house, and they're going to kill me!

The urgency in her voice jolted Patrick awake. His heart pounded as he glanced at the empty spot beside him where Jocelyn should have been. Without wasting a single second, he leaped out of bed and raced toward the source of the call.

    Chapter 1:

Patrick returned to his house after being away for about six months. He couldn't stay away any longer, knowing that he couldn't run from the fact that his ex-girlfriend had died in the same house where he lived. There was nothing he could do to change this grim reality, so he decided to come back and resume his work, which he had been avoiding for quite some time. He felt relieved that his friend, Ethan, had taken care of the business during his absence, but now it was time for him to step back into his role.

Upon his return, Patrick found his house locked, just as it had been when he left. The workers had also left, perhaps thinking that he might never return. He reached out to his friend, Michael, to let him know that he was back. He hadn't seen Michael since his release from prison. Patrick had promised Michael that he would return soon, but he had delayed his comeback because he wasn't emotionally prepared to confront his painful past.

Patrick and Michael sat down in Patrick's living room.

Are the cops still trying to figure out what happened to Felicity? Patrick asked, looking worried. He couldn't stop thinking about her. Her death was a terrible thing, and he still didn't know who did it or why.

Michael nodded seriously. Yeah, they found some video footage. It's not super clear, but it shows someone going into your place, and that person seems taller than you. The police are still working on the case.

The room was heavy with uncertainty. Patrick and Michael both felt frustrated because they couldn't solve the mystery of what had happened to Felicity.

Later that evening, the group of friends gathered for a night out, just like old times. Patrick, Emily, and Sarah danced, laughed, and enjoyed drinks at their favorite local spot. It felt like a much-needed release for everyone, a way to escape their troubles, even if only for a few hours.

As the night drew to a close, Patrick walked his friends back to their houses, feeling a renewed sense of camaraderie. They hugged and promised to meet up again soon. Then, Patrick turned toward his own house, the same one where Felicity had tragically lost her life six months earlier.

His footsteps echoed in the quiet night as he approached the mansion. The memories of that fateful night still haunted him, and the house seemed to hold secrets he couldn't uncover. Patrick had hired only a
