INTRODUCTION TO LOVE
Ernesto Cardenal, a Nicaraguan poet, and priest once wrote, To love is to live, and to live is to love.
That may sound correct, but in a world where we’re all confused about what love is, what does he mean? One thing that’s worth noting is that the poet never defined his terms. What’s this thing called "love"? Undoubtedly no aspect of human know-how has been deliberated, analyzed, and envisaged about more than the nature of true love.
Love is ubiquitous in our music, books, movies, and on our television screens. The conversation when it comes to love is always on our tongues, and never far away from our conversations. However, for all our thinking, speaking, and discussing, the question is how many of us truly understand love? Do we know what true love is? A 17th-century French author and moralist, by name Francois Duc de La Rochefoucauld made an observation when he indicated that, True love is like ghosts, that everybody talks about, but only few have seen.
