Introduction

I believe we are all here for a reason. That we each have an individual purpose and a collective purpose in this thing called life. This collective experience unites us. Our individual paths may look different—we’re born in separate bodies, in different families, and in different parts of the world, but still, we are all on a journey to uncover the same universal truths. And to really learn these truths, we have to experience the journey firsthand.

As we explore what it means to be a human being in this world, we discover that we are all connected to something deeper and greater than ourselves. If we take a moment to observe our surroundings, we witness the presence of miracles all around us—in nature, in humanity, or in the great unknown. When we pay attention, we see that life is not as ordinary as we think it is. This sense of wonder is something we are connected to in childhood—the excitement that comes with each day, the sense of playfulness and possibility in each experience. When we were children, everything looked brighter. Everything was alive. Everything was magical. We were absolutely and unconditionally in love with life.

For most of us, this sense of love and wonder has faded away over time. But losing that perspective makes it all the more amazing to rediscover. We have to experience the dark to appreciate the light. We have to go through hard times to grow as people. We have to weather these storms to discover our true selves and our purposes.

As you move through life, you will face choices, and every decision you make will steer you in a certain way. These decisions are the wind in your sail. And as you navigate life’s rough waters and calm seas, a voice will follow you wherever you go. This is your inner compass guiding you to your true north. It will nudge you toward what feels right and warn you when something feels off. It is there, with you, to guide you and help you fulfill your calling here on Earth.
