Farewell
It isn’t good to be always alone.
The Week of a Lifetime
Is it coincidence, in that we’ve managed to secure
the same seven days as all the years of being together?
You have given yourself entirely to your devotion to me
as it compels you to give up all aspects of your animation
and throw out your way of enjoyment as you drive along that beckoning road.
Each hour goes by as precisely as the initial pattern
set by our states of hurt and dissatisfaction.
We have both agreed that we interpret it
as a demoralized haze of obligation without healthy community.
Yet, we are kindred in spirit, clinging to each other for solace
in a time that leaves us wondering why we feel like an outlier.
So, we fancy growing our exiled ways into children with no past
of reminiscent memories that have already shaped them.
We want them to have what is good and what love highlights,
as gentle yet firm guidance into who they are and will be.
