    I

    Farewell

It isn’t good to be always alone.

    The Week of a Lifetime

Is it coincidence, in that we’ve managed to secure

the same seven days as all the years of being together?

You have given yourself entirely to your devotion to me

as it compels you to give up all aspects of your animation

and throw out your way of enjoyment as you drive along that beckoning road.

Each hour goes by as precisely as the initial pattern

set by our states of hurt and dissatisfaction.

We have both agreed that we interpret it

as a demoralized haze of obligation without healthy community.

Yet, we are kindred in spirit, clinging to each other for solace

in a time that leaves us wondering why we feel like an outlier.

So, we fancy growing our exiled ways into children with no past

of reminiscent memories that have already shaped them.

We want them to have what is good and what love highlights,

as gentle yet firm guidance into who they are and will be.
