A Life of Beauty - Surely Be
SCENES OF LIFE
A Touch of Muse
Surely Be
Scene One:
___In the first scene of act one, when the curtain of night is lifted, dawns early light slowly creeps over the eastern hills. The sweet thrill of a bird in the distance wafts over the scene as it announces the dawning of a new day. It sings an aria dedicated to the celebration, announcing another day of experience.
Scene Two:
___A frog that croaked throughout the night, calling for his illusive mate, becomes silent at dawning of this new day as he busily forages for his morning meal. The unwary insects who escaped the midnight bats then must be wary of yet another predator.
Scene Three:
___An eagle swoops down from the early morning sky and grasps the frog in her powerful talons. She then flies upward toward her mountain nest to feed her hungry fledglings. When she discovers she has but a frog in her powerful grasp, she drops the frog onto the ground below. The frog immediately, adapting to its new environment, hops away to find another pond and another mate.
Final Scene:
___If you could but view the play called life as a joyful aria announcing each new day with anticipation, your life would be so much simpler. If life grasps you in its powerful talons and you need to free yourself from your seeming doomed fate, you need but change the scene. Wake up each morning with a song in your heart as you seek the joy that life has to offer. When you bring down the curtain on the final scene of this life, you may then choose to fly away with the eagle toward the setting sun.
A TAPESTRY FOR SPRING
A Touch of Poetry
Surely Be
In early spring crocus bloom everywhere,
And yellow daffodils appear here and there..
The aroma of the damp earth fills the air.
An old oak tree sprouts new green leaves,
as the Robins chase the buzzing bees.
Mother Nature’s spring tapestry is sure to please.
As she changes the colors of winter’s gloom,
to create a new scene when the tulips bloom,
as they emerge from their cold winters tomb.
Changing the spool from the white of snow
to a yellow enhanced by the suns golden glow,
from her loom for spring the bright colors flow.
A WISE OLD OWL AND ME
A Touch of Muse
Surely Be
__ In a moment of reverie, I envisioned myself walking through a forest of trees one fine morning. I saw myself coming upon an owl perched on a limb above me. I was startled as he began to speak. Whooo and what are you?
he asked. I scratched my head as I pondered what to say. How could I give an intelligent answer to this old bird who had never read a book?
___ I’ve read in many books that I am an eternal being sharing the planet Earth with all things living and all forms that are not,
I answered. The wise old owl cocked his head and ruffled his feathers with a mighty shake as he asked me another question.
Why do you think you are sharing Earth with me?
as he asked this of me he composed himself, pulling himself together seemingly feather by feather. I again replied with a feeling of dismay, I don’t know for sure but I am told it is to experience life as a Being that is of a more advanced species than any other species on this planet.
His yellow eyes stared into my eyes making me regret that I had ever tried to answer such a profound question coming from a bird.
Why do you think of yourself as more superior than me?
as he asked this question he closed one eye and then the other; my session with the wise old owl had ended. I now realize this vision from Spirit was to help me realize that everything is in essence is of the same Vibrational Energy that is our Source of Being-ness. Everything seen and unseen is equal in value in accordance to its intended design.
Although in times of meditation I often envision roaming the forest but I never experienced the wise owl again. This vision had started me upon a path that led to the realization that in essence he and I have the same Energy Source as does the branch upon which he sat, and the path upon which I trod. The only difference I now realize is that being a human Being I cannot preen my feathers, I must use a comb.
MORNING SONG
A Touch of Muse
Surely Be
A glistening dew-drop clinging to a leafy branch,
mirrors the sun rising in the eastern sky.
its destination is to drop onto the grass below,
A bird dipping low catches the drop of dew,
before it plummets onto the grassy knoll,
quenching the bird’s early morning thirst.
As I arise to begin the wonderment of a new day,
I have a song in my heart for this new day of living,
for I know that I may choose this to be a day of joy.
I share the same essence with the dew, bird, and sun.
and being an observer, I have manifested their forms,
so I sing joyfully as I create the desires of my heart.
DANCE OF LIFE
A Touch of Muse
Surely Be
Atoms and molecules whirling, moving
in perfect order, all with the same purpose.
The speed of their movement, unseen by the
naked eye, creates images perceived as reality.
Look around you at those forms created by
this movement, their solidity is an illusion.
What is the energy Source that holds these
particles together that we perceive as solid matter?
This mystery has puzzled man since he became
aware of the process of birth, life, and then of death.
If you think I can give to you the meaning of it all
I cannot, for I too am dancing in the illusion.
I can only say I feel the energy of life within me
is something more than particles dancing in form.
I feel a Spirit, a life source within me that cannot
be explained by the reasoning of scholars.
I know these tiny particles do not create the
feelings of love, pain, or joy, they only form mater.
So I must do my best to live life to the fullest;
while I move my body to the beat of Earth’s rhythm.
Soon my body will stop dancing in this form and
my spirit will dance to the rhythm of the universe.
DEW DROPS ONTO A ROSE
A Touch of poetry
Surely Be
Gaze intently into a dewdrop
on the petal of a rose.
The reflection of sunlight in the drop,
will in that moment transpose,
the life-giving energy of the sun,
as nourishment for the rose.
This event is but an illusion
you have chosen in your reality,
for as a participating observer
you chose what event you see.
The rose, the dewdrop, and the sun
without your observation would not be.
