Following her blackout she began praying to God for help when she had a religious experience involving St. Theresa of the Little Flower coming to her with a rose. Shortly thereafter, she entered Alcoholics Anonymous(AA) January 1995 and remained clean and sober for 19 years until her untimely death during a medical procedure in January 2014. During her life she touch so many people and through her commitment to AA helped many recover. She walked the 12 steps with them in love and regardless of what was going on in her own life she reached out to others with a smile and a joke. After 9-11, while the rubble was still smoldering, she was one of the first to volunteer to go down to Ground Zero to help rebuild the infrastructure. Quiet, peaceful and loved by all, she shared her deepest self in her writings and poetry.view less
