    Alice?

    Alice looked up from her studying to see her aunt standing nearby. Yes?

    Madeline handed her niece a card. I drew this card this morning.

    Alice accepted the card and nodded. Okay, then I’ll study the 5 of cups today.

    Very good. Madeline left her niece’s room.

    Alice quickly found the two corresponding cards from her other decks. Soon she was taking notes as she studied the card. She noticed the three knocked over cups and how the person on the card couldn’t see the two upright ones behind them. She sighed.

    She thought of her mother and all the trouble and misunderstandings they had. Alice knew it wasn’t going to get any better and that she was better off living away from her mother. Alice smiled when she remember how safe she was now living with
