About this ebook

Warrior stood gazing down upon the city at night. The lights were so beautiful giving off an ambiance, yet to a Nephilim, one understood they could be deceiving. He was saddened. A war was upon them. It wouldn't be the first nor the last. Angels and Demons had battled for centuries for human souls. This war, however, was the first for Warrior and his sister Alyssa. They must stand by their father, Archangel Michael. They could show no fear to the enemy though they be terrified.

He clenched his teeth as Metatron read from the book.  "First shall come the birds, flying in fear as the Angels blacken the sky with their numbers. The Demons and their dark lurkers gather down below; they walk among the humans as they do every day. They grow in numbers. This has become a battle for dominion. We fight for faithful souls, for loss souls crying out. We shall not be defeated. We shall always be. Heavenly beings.

    Prologue

ARCHANGEL MICHAEL AND Alyssa halted in their conversation as they set on the rooftop of the building where her twin Timothy lived. She was ecstatic as she hadn’t seen him in months now. Azrael suddenly reached out to them.

Azrael, Michael responded back. Somethings wrong, what is it?? Were we followed?"

You were, it was two demons which I took care of easily. I was watching them watch you watch your son become a famous artist. I must tell you Michael you can’t become complacent in your newfound father position. It makes you vulnerable.

Yes, you are correct I’m afraid. Do you think they are just following because of who I am, or do they know about Alyssa and Tim as well as Raine? I should have never agreed to this meeting tonight, but it was hard to say no to our Alyssa.

No worries brother, I always have your back you should know that. I believe its time to call out Metatron. I may need some backup. I know you have millions of angels to call on, but I want my closest partners with me. You know how picky I can be.

PICKING UP ON A POSSIBLE nudge of danger, down below Tim held the door for his mother Raine as they left the Always Excellent Art show on a Saturday evening in Central New York City. It had been his first as well as very successful art show, not only selling out his twenty-two angelic paintings, but garnering him request for paintings from several businesses in the area. There was a bidding war for his portrait, ‘Angels Reading in a Library.’ It was the only one he kept an original painting of as his roommate as well as special friend Jophiel had given him this idea, requesting he keep one in his loft apartment for her to look at when she was there.

The fact that Jophiel was an Angel of Wisdom and Mercy, while Tim, his mother Raine were both Nephilim’s, would not be shared with the buyers. They would only know that they absolutely were meant to have the particular painting they purchased. Tim and Raine both glanced up into the sky at the exact same moment. They’d planned a quick stop for a coffee before heading back to his place to meet Archangel Michael and Alyssa, however both sensing a dark presence, they instead quickly turned in the opposite direction deciding to eat in the safety of his apartment loft thirty-six floors up. He had been trained by the best. Choose your battles wisely. This was not the time.

    Chapter One

    NYC-The Art Show

TIM AND RAINE ARRIVED in his apartment loft living room to be greeted by Michael and Alyssa. He’d taken the time to speak with friends in the front lobby, introducing them to his mother. His manager Wayne Chalmers also lived in the same building, on floor ten. He was a nephilim surviving in a large metropolis city for over twenty years now. He lived a solitary life, explaining it was by his choice. It made it so much easier not to have to answer uncomfortable questions from nosy people. He was, however, extremely happy to have Tim and Jophiel as friends and neighbors. Being a nephilim was an honor not to be taken for granted. It was also a very dangerous position and role to carry as they were also part human thus making them extremely vulnerable to dark lurkers who constantly looked for victims for their demons. They could not let their identity be known for any reason. He was unaware of the importance yet as to Tim, his mother Raine or Jophiel, nor to the importance to Archangel Michael. Warrior had not disclosed or offered any information about his mom. Wayne also didn’t know Jophiel was a full-fledged Angel of Wisdom and Messenger. It had not been decided yet if he needed to know this information. He only knew he had a friend who was an amazing artist as well as a nephilim. Or rather a mixed-blood as they would find out later some referred to them. He was ecstatic to get to sign on as Art Manager for him. He also didn’t know Tim had a twin, was a fierce warrior, nor that Archangel Micheal was his biological father. Some things were best left unsaid, as secrets to be shared only with a special few. Tim and his mom were anxious to get upstairs to see everyone, so the visit was rushed with Tim promising to contact Wayne the following day to go over the orders for paintings they’d received during the art show as well as payment. Wayne wanted to sign him up for another one in four months’ time. Tim had no idea if he could fulfill a promise for an art show as well as do individual paintings. He had other important things to deal with. In fact, he needed to speak with Archangel Michael, so he couldn’t wait to see everyone.

    ***

ARCHANGEL MICHAEL AND Alyssa were waiting for Tim and Raine when they entered through the front door. It was no surprise they had taken a different route in both being an angel and nephilim. Alyssa ran to embrace both her mom and brother. She’d missed them terribly. Azrael arrived within minutes as he always did with an elaborate flair. He had both swords drawn as if ready to do battle. His wings retracted immediately but not before Alyssa had a chance to comment.

Azrael didn’t your wings used to be more lavender. They are now silvery black. Not that it’s any of my business. Your hairs longer also.

Tim was always a bit shocked and amazed at how comfortable Alyssa was about speaking her mind whereas he still hesitated in their fathers presence. He supposed being with Michael all the time as Alyssa was would make one more at ease. Michael had been almost as surprised as Tim and Alyssa had three years ago when their futures were destined. The almighty father above was truly the one in charge. Michael had quickly done the math, figuring out the human woman which turned out to be Raine, he had graced with not one child but twins, would come around again to be one of his most important challenges in his existence some seventeen years later as he recognized both Timothy and Alyssa as his and Raines children.

What was a blessing in one sense was a curse in another as demons and dark lurkers would want to claim the souls of an Archangels children. Alyssa had died on the same night, same time as Timothy had over three years ago. He had lived here in New York with people claiming to be his parents when in fact he’d been stolen from the hospital upon his and Alyssas birth. He was almost homeless at age sixteen, had quit school. He was on his way to becoming soul food for the dark lurkers while Alyssa had been in a loving house hold with their parents, attending high school, going to church in Connecticut. She was granted her angel wings, he became her assignment, neither knowing they were actual twins until several days later on the seventh day of possible Ascension. He was told rather than given a choice, as it was explained what his position would consist of. It would be months later before any of them learned their mother Raine was indeed a nephilim having survived as one all her life with a human father, a good man who passed away a few years ago. He was jerked back to the present by Alyssas voice.

"Hello Tim, where’d you go? Are you drifting back to the pass again? I don’t know how long I’ll get to stay so can you focus on the here and now please? I’ve missed you so much. I do see mom from time to time, but our paths don’t seem to be destined to cross much. She glanced knowingly up at Michael as she said these last words.

Tim jerked back to the present. I’m so sorry sis. Yea, I’ve missed you too a lot. Jophiel and I think of you often. I have to say this past year has gone fast though. Did you both get to see the art show? I’m sorry you couldn’t attend but I understand why you didn’t, so no worries. Hey, I’ve got supplies in the kitchenet for hot cocoa if you want one. I’ll take extra cool whip.

Tim smiled as Alyssa hugged him before running in to fix them both a cup.

Raine took that moment to jump in. Tim was a huge success of course. I hope Michael you got a glimpse of the paintings he did, all of angels. I’d have loved to have any of them hanging on one of my walls. That is if I had any walls to hang them on. She smiled at her remark. Her home in the clouds didn’t exactly have solid walls. She was under protection almost as much as the twins were. They’d all survived a huge battle with the Dark Angel and his minions back in Danford Connecticut a year ago. Some of his dark lurkers along with demons had actually captured Raine, Tim and Alyssa dragging them down to the gates of hell where they were imprisoned. Of course, they were quickly rescued. Sometimes best-laid plans don’t go as they should; decisions then have to be made, thus that’s what happened. Tim was brought here to New York much to his dismay as he wasn’t crazy about returning here. They all were wise enough to know their father above had a reason for this. It would all come to light sooner than they thought. Jophiel had been reassigned so she could be with Tim. They both shared feelings for each other, realizing their relationship was very different from a normal persons relationship.

Hey Tim, Azrael walked over to him, glancing at the hair growing down his neck. I see you’re taking my advice about growing your hair out. You were looking far too young and vulnerable with that church haircut, sorry Raine but he needs to blend with his surroundings, not stand out. Now, what is it about this hot cocoa you two twins have an obsession about? I know it’s none of my business but isn’t this a drink for young kids?

Alyssa and Tim both laughed at the same time before responding simultaneously.

Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.

She returned to the kitchen area coming back with a cup she offered to Azrael.

    "Don’t say a word just take a
