Someone with sense had ordered the food, Joe saw to his relief. Ther was nothing sillier than a man trying to hold a plate with one hand, a drink with another, and a fork with the third hand he didn’t have. Everything was finger food. Even the miniature burgers and tacos could be eaten with one hand. He began to load up a plate with the burgers, tacos, chips, thick-cut brownies and, somewhat guiltily as his mother raised her eyebrows at him, some carrots and celery sticks. There was also spiced apple cider to drink, and he helped himself to a glass.

“I do like a young man with a big...appetite,” a voice murmured in his ear.

Startled, he turned, nearly tripping over his feet in the process. Then his eyes nearly fell out of his head. Carol Blanchett stood in front of him, a small, strange smile on her lips. She was dressed in a crimson off-the-shoulder dress which clung to her curves like a second skin. That is, what there was of it clung like a second skin. But there really wasn’t all that much of it. Especially in the...chest area. Helplessly Sean felt his gaze drawn to the creamy depths of the older woman’s cleavage, where a diamond pendant hung between her breasts.

“Hello, Joe.” And the temperature in the room seemed to spike. “Did you just get here?”

He nodded, feeling like an idiot. “Yes. Thanks for inviting us.” He swallowed. “Um. That’s a very nice dress. You look great.”

Her smile grew deeper. “Thank you. I know it isn’t very...appropriate. Not really. But I knew it was going to be so...hot...in here, with all the extra bodies.” She leaned closer. “Do you feel hot, Joe? That jacket and tie can’t be very comfortable.” She lifted a hand, clasping the knot of the tie in her fingers, and pulled, just a little. Unresisting, his head bent until their faces were only inches apart. “Would you like to take it off, Joe?” The tip of her tongue touched her lips. “Your tie, I mean?”

Joe nodded, caught in the fire in those sapphire-blue eyes. Hell, she looks like Santa’s slutty daughter! “Then take it off, Joe.” Her voice fell, growing breathy. “Take it all off.”

He was just loosening his tie when another voice came from the side, dousing his lust like a bucket of cold water. “Hello, Carol. What a lovely dress. I wish I could wear that color.”

    Chapter One

Harder, Carol Blanchett urged her husband. She reached behind her and grabbed his hip, pulling him into her. "Come on, Sean, fuck me harder! I need it!"

Her husband tried, clamping his hands around her hips and driving into her. Carol closed her eyes and thrust back against him, trying to make up with her desire the force her husband lacked the instinct for.

She bit her lip, frustrated. It wasn’t Sean’s fault that he couldn’t give what Carol craved. She loved him. She truly did. But in some ways, Sean simply wasn’t man enough for her. And it was at times like these, when their lovemaking grew stale, Carol knew it was time to dip her toe back into the forbidden pool of adultery.

Behind her, Sean’s motions changed slightly. Carol hid a sigh of disappointment. After eleven years together, and nine years of marriage, she knew what that meant. In just a few moments she felt the shudder and hot spurt as Sean spent himself in her, his climax coming too soon and too abruptly to satisfy her.

She rolled her eyes, counted to ten, then lowered herself to the mattress. Sean followed, lying at her side. I’m sorry, he said. You didn’t…

No. She pressed her lips together, holding back bitter words. I didn’t.

Her husband, her lover, the father of her children, and the man she adored (most of the time) put his arm around her shoulders. It’s time, isn’t it?

Excitement burned in her crotch. Yes. She turned her head and kissed Sean’s cheek. Sean. I love you. But…

You need another man, he chuckled. His hand drifted lower, cupping her breast. You don’t need to apologize for it, baby. The time for me to get pissed off about it was ten years ago, not now.

Carol smiled and put her hand between her legs as her husband played with her tits. It wasn’t Sean’s fault. The man was just too decent, in a way. It almost made her laugh. All her unmarried girlfriends moaned about how it was impossible to find a nice guy. Carol hadn’t had any problem at all. She and Sean had met at Colorado State, and had been almost inseparable since. Graduation, engagement, marriage and children hadn’t been enough to dull the affection between them.

    But…

Carol didn’t want a nice guy in bed. At least, not all the time. And her husband simply wasn’t capable of giving her the sort of rough usage her body craved. That is, not unless it was after she had taken a stranger to her bed. Then the animal in him came out and he was as fierce as she could possibly wish, driven by jealousy. Their lovemaking grew wild and passionate as he scored her skin with his nails, left teeth-marks on her ass and shoulders, as if he wanted to put his personal brand on her. And she loved it.

It should have broken their relationship, the first time he came home to their apartment and saw her fucking another guy. But somehow her tearful confession and the corresponding make-up sex had made their bond stronger. She couldn’t change who Sean was. And he couldn’t change who she was. So together they had worked out a series of compromises which kept them both happy. When the urge was on her, when she craved the touch of another man’s hands, she told him. And together they arranged for her to pick someone to go to bed with. Sometimes Sean watched. Sometimes he simply waited until Carol’s one-night-stand departed and joined her in bed, listening to her descriptions of what they had done, both of them growing more and more excited until they couldn’t control themselves and started to fuck like animals.

So, Sean asked, watching as Carol played with herself. How do you want to do it this time?

Carol frowned. These days it was almost too easy to find a casual hook-up. Or, at least, it was easy to find guys who were willing to fuck her. But finding a guy who was good-looking, not a creep, and whose profile wasn’t a steaming pile of lies was a bit more challenging. Winnowing the wheat from the chaff was taking longer every time. Carol would almost have preferred to have a permanent side-piece, as one of her married friends called her boy-toy. But she didn’t feel like giving any man who wasn’t her husband a claim on her.

I don’t know, she said at last. Last time…that guy from…well, I’m just glad you weren’t far away. She shivered at the memory. "I wish there was a way we could do a better job of vetting them.
