Michael stepped on the scale for his weekly weigh-in.

John read out loud, 249lbs, you know what you’re getting close to, right?

Another milestone. Until you hit two-fifty, people counted by fives, tens, even twenty-fives, but after that the important numbers were in fifties. Anything that ended with two zeros was reason for a big celebration. Michael smiled wide, and did a little clap.

I want to measure you today, for clothes. You’re going to need something to wear to the clubs, and sweats for your daily walk.

There was no way faster to kill his joy than to mention those two things, going outside, and exercise of any kind.

You need some kind of social life, and a little movement and fresh air to be healthy. Trust me, I’m not trying to change you, just keep you at your best, John grabbed a moob, and fattest. Come on, you’re going to eat while I search online for your size.

Michael prayed for a long delivery time, none of this overnight bullshit. Suddenly feeling against the clock, he ate breakfast in a fury as if he was about to be put on a diet.
