About this ebook

"I demand complete silence!" He threw me into the field, where I landed with a dull thud, and Alpha Romeo growled out at once, which caused everyone to go very silent.

Indignantly, he proclaimed, "Today, I shall teach this filthy, accursed Omega a lesson." Omega was the antagonist in this story.

"You shall feel regret." It was my own father who was the first one to move when he suddenly snapped his fingers. Some of the other members of the pack followed suit. They were holding him in their arms, and he did not put up any resistance to it. They brought him before the Alpha, where he flashed a grin in his direction. My grandfather did not make much movement; he was simply staring at him in shock the entire time. The way Romeo was staring at me and then at him helped me figure out what he was planning to do.

"NO!" I said as loud as I could, "I am the one who dared to defy you! Please don't involve my dad in this!" This was met with derision from the Alpha, who then contacted my father.

When he raised my father off the ground, he gradually turned his hands into claws. Then, in a single savage stroke, Alpha Romeo thrust his clawed hand into my father's chest, piercing and impaling him. I was able to see his heart, which had been ripped open and destroyed by the clawed paw of the Alpha, which had punched a hole through him.

My name is Sabrina White, and this miserable existence is brought to you by me.

    The Broken Slave - JD

    Chapter 72

    Candance's POV

He ran his fingers over my back, I suppose it's time to officially introduce you to the pack.

I stumbled, feeling worry rush over me. Why? I asked. Is it necessary?

He said, turning me to face him, It is long overdue. What is wrong? he questioned, observing my pale face. You look afraid.

They hate me, I blurted out in a blubbering mess, tears threatening to fall as every scathing phrase I've heard hit me square in the gut.

They would love you, and I don't care if they don't; you are mine, and you shall rule alongside me. I will kill anyone who disrespects or harms you, Candance, shhhh," he said, pulling me in closer and wiping away the tears that had dropped.

Knowing that I might result in the deaths of more people, my face grew even paler as I pleaded with him, No, please.

When news of his murders reached me while I was unconscious, I already carried a lot of guilt and didn't need any more.

He hissed, I will protect you. You will get as much respect as I get, or they will regret crossing me.

I nodded and encircled him with my arms, which helped me to relax as his aroma filled the air.

He continued, "You still haven't informed me about your background.

In actuality, I didn't want to ever discuss it, saying, I am not ready. When he found out what I went through and how they treated me, I was afraid he would think I was a whore and left because I would disgust him.

He kissed my forehead and said, For now, sleep. I'll introduce you to the pack tomorrow. I'll wait until you are.

I remained silent, approving of his choice. I didn't spend much time in deep sleep before the fear of running into the pack was still present in my mind.

Dawn arrived earlier than I anticipated. Since I knew what had in store for me when the skies lit up, I'll be honest and say that I couldn't sleep for the majority of the night. In an effort to keep Chloe from waking up, I had spent the night pacing the room and practicing facial expressions in the mirror.

Could you remain composed and self-assured? Dahlia complained, breaking my thousandth rehearsed smile, With all your worry, I couldn't sleep! My smile vanished as she exploded.

I don't want to meet the pack because I'm afraid! They definitely won't like me, I said, using the exact eleven words I had been repeating since Oakley had told me about it.

If you continue acting in this manner, how on earth are you going to become insane? She huffed, and I realized she was right. A crucial point. If I didn't even have the bravery to face them, no one would respect me.

Oakley and Finn have got our backs, she said, trying to reassure me.

I retorted, "That's not the point. What if I get jeered at or rejected by the pack?

They wouldn't dare, she sighed, so just calm yourself down and try to relax; everything will be OK.

After she said her final remark, I nodded and went straight to the bed, wringing my fingers as I did so. Ignoring the little sunshine that squinted through the crack in the curtains, I climbed into bed and curled up in the hopes of getting some sleep.

Kezia gasped, waking me from my slumber, You look wonderful sweetie. It turns out that staying up all night feeling anxious wasn't a good idea, and lying to myself about how much sleep I could get before they arrived to get me was the worst lie ever.

Migraines brought on by a lack of sleep made me cringe as a piercing pain rushed through my brain. When I opened my eyes, I felt a tug at the hem of my gown. I looked down and saw Chloe beaming at me, which also made me smile in return.

She whirled around in her dark ball gown, which was covered in sparkles, asking, Do I look pretty, mummy? Tell me! Tell me!

I gave her a cheek pinch and a smile, saying, You are as lovely as ever. My daughter was always so bubbly, it was lovely to have her energy all around me, to think that I was more than willing to leave this world and leave her all alone, it made me question my sanity for a few moments as I pondered the stupidity that coursed through my veins. I was quite the asshole for even attempting to leave my daughter, who would have taken care of her if I managed to actually kill myself?

I heard a click, which caught my attention, and I turned around to see Jenson smiling at us and holding her phone, saying, Oakley would cream all over himself seeing you in that gown!

I gasped at her bold comments, and Kezia smacked her with Jenson. As I moved away from them, my cheeks started to flush. Jenson was giggling, as if she had just said something dirty, but it was just her nature to do so. I was thankful for what she always brought to the table when the going gets tough, it was Kezia and her that kept me sane, when I was universally hated by everyone in the pack.

She winked at me as she moved from Jenson's side to mine, saying, Don't worry her sweetheart. Look in the mirror and see how gorgeous you look.

My mouth dropped open as I turned around in obedience to her instructions and stared at my mirror. Despite me sleeping off for the majority of the time, they had both managed to precisely style my hair and apply my makeup.

This time, rather than wearing my blonde hair in a bun, I let it fall to my shoulders. My edges were set back, and my locks were sleeked backwards in a haphazard manner. Light makeup was applied to my face, and I finished with red lipstick.

    Chapter 73

    Candance's POV

My body was adorned by a black gown. It had no straps and curved downward, accentuating the right areas of my curves before flowing down toward my legs. It had a slit that extended from my lower thigh and down, although it wasn't too high.

I grinned as I saw myself in the mirror for the first time feeling and looking lovely. It was the first time that I could even actually manage to compliment myself, it was quite the feeling, like butterflies fluttering in your stomach as you tried to approach the moment with a neutral expression. But it was not just meant to be, I was livid at the fact that I was given an opportunity to shine like this.

Jenson approached me and asked, So... do you like it?

Chloe gave me a toothy grin and grabbed my legs, saying, You are gorgeous too.

I gave myself another look in the mirror and said, I adore it. I then took a worried breath and murmured to myself, It's soon.

Kezia stated while adjusting her dress, "We have to go. She was wearing a long white gown, and Jenson was wearing a dress that matched the color of her hair. As usual, they both looked stunning. These two women could easily overpower me in their beauty alone, I cannot bear to think about the effect they would have on all the other people when they are finally seen.

Hearing her comments caused my breath to catch in my throat. All signs of fatigue vanished, and my previous sense of anxiousness returned.

Kezia grabbed my hand and squeezed mine, saying, You will be alright. I was once there and everyone will love you. Just hold your head high and do not let their looks or remarks affect you.

And as usual, we are here for you," Jenson added, giving me a quick hug. Her warm embrace kept me in check, when I was about to lose myself in the moment, it was her support that kept me alive. Her friendship was the only beacon I could count on when everything was breaking down without a second thought.

Kezia said, pulling a black outfit off the bed, Here. I wore it when I was being introduced to the pack. It's tradition as the future queen to wear this. She strapped it on, saying, You look exquisite. I was impressed by the Cape. It was long, black, and embellished with gems. I already had a regal feeling.

She said, It's time to go, and I agreed with her. We soon exited the room, and I was sent to the throne room, which was a different area of the castle where I would meet Oakley.

At the enormous doors, they both left me and headed to where the pack was assembled. As soon as the doors opened and I inside, I exhaled. The area was enormous and gorgeous, decorated with a variety of sculptures and pieces of art. Huge chandeliers hung from the ceilings, and when they were lit, they gave the space a flawless shine. It was gorgeous, a shining beacon of loveliness that could easily take anyone looking at it over without a doubt.

I stared at the place with wide eyes, It looks beautiful.

My head jumped up at the comment, Well, you seem to be the only enchanting thing here, and I glanced forward to see steps leading up to two enormous thrones, one of which was larger than the other.

Oakley was coming down those steps toward me in all of his grandeur, sporting a small grin on his face. Like me, he had nicely tousled hair, and his short cape was embellished with jewels, exactly like mine was. He was wearing his scabbard around his waist. As he descended further, he began to resemble the tyrannical Alpha King more so than the berry-loving Oakley, who I observed in awe.

He drew nearer to me and looked over me, You are appealing in that dress, he said, Even more so without it. Are you going to stare at me all day without saying anything?

Are you ready? he asked as he drew nearer to me and pulled me into a hug.

I muttered, fidgeting with my fingers, Yea, a bit worried though, as I gazed down at the exquisitely marbled floor.

I obeyed his command to gaze at him and he said, You will do wonderful love and they will adore you, just be calm and everything will go okay. He took my hands in his, which were so small in comparison to his.

Let's do this, I said, nodding and exhaling the breath I hadn't realized I had been holding.

They are assembled in the ball room, he remarked, taking my hand and pointing toward two closed doors after giving me a tiny smile.

As the doors started to open and revealed my current greatest dread, my heart began to race rapidly with each step we took and hard as we drew nearer. I hope nothing goes wrong, I said to myself.

The murmuring from the thronging crowd abruptly halted as the doors fully opened. I felt my heart melt inside of me at the sweetness of his voice as he muttered, I got you, after giving me a comforting look and holding my hand in the crook of his arm.

Kezia said as we walked on into the ballroom, Just hold your head high and do not let their looks or remarks affect you. The throng dispersed as we continued, bowing in response to our presence. I kept my head held high and controlled my emotions as I watched Oakley do.

Even though I so strongly wanted to flee, I attempted to ignore the mocking glances that were being cast my way out of the corner of my eyes.

He led the way, and as we approached a set of steps leading to a podium, the pack members gathered around, getting closer to hear what their king had to say.

Chloe was secured in Kezia's arms as she held her tenderly in the front, where I could see her. Jenson was standing next to them, along with other club members, including the Beta, Camilla, who surprised me by beaming at me. I grinned at my daughter as she waved at me.

wait! What?! I stared at her, unsure of how to respond to the obviously odd gesture coming from someone who wished to murder me. Then, as I met her mother's eyes, my gaze changed; if looks could kill, I would have died instantly.

    Chapter 74

    Candance's POV

I peered at other faces; some seemed kind, while others seemed to be threatening me with death. This made me shiver and move closer to Oakley.

The sound of his yelling, Silence! reverberated loudly around the room, making me slightly tremble. As they stared at their monarch and the undesired woman beside him, everyone ceased speaking and appeared to hold their breath.

Murmurs came from the throng of people, which all faded away as he growled again, I said quiet! One more sound and heads shall roll! He moved away from me, which made me feel disappointed a little before he gave me a comforting smile, And to those of you who do not know yet, I intend to introduce a very special person today.

I regarded him with wide eyes, wondering if he was sincere.

He glanced at me this time, a slight smile growing to his lips as he extended his hand and motioned for me to grasp it. He said, Finally the moon goddess answered my prayers and sent me My other half. He continued, Members of the black moon pack. He cleared his throat.

I moved quickly, putting my hand in his, and we turned back to face the audience. I introduce to you my mate, Candance he said, she is the future Luna of this pack and shall ru-

Oakley's speech was cut short by a choked cry from the audience, Never! I would never submit to an omega! I will not ever kowtow to her!

Oakley violently released my hand as he erupted into wrath. Who is that? he demanded as his eyes met the man who had previously yelled, Capture him, You dare to question my power? he questioned.

The guards swiftly charged into the mob while swinging their weapons. The others in the crowd watched carefully as everything played out in front of their own eyes as they grabbed the man and hauled him onto the stage.

The soldiers pulled him to his knees in front of me, and he yelled at them, Bring him here! Make him kneel before her! as they dragged him towards where we were. As Oakley stepped behind him, holding his neck hard, the man shook in terror. How dare you disrespect my mate?! Haven't you learned a lesson from previous examples? Oakley said.

past instances? What is happening? What does he mean by past instances?

I simply gave him a slight nod before moving back as he sobbed out, I...I'm sorry, staring up at me with terror in his eyes, Please forgive me, my Luna.

Oakley released his hold on the man's neck and stepped in front of him to block my view of the man. Step aside Candance, he growled, his hand resting on the sword's hilt.

I cried out in terror, What are you going to do?, and from the corner of my eye I saw Kezia back away into the crowd covering Chloe's eyes from the scene.

I dialed Oakley once more, this time with tears streaming down my face. He didn't give me a sideways glance or respond. He didn't say a word; he just kept staring.

Let this be another lesson to all! he cried, and almost instantly, in one rapid motion, his sword was drawn. Blood spattered, gasps were heard, and a head rolled as the sword swung in the air.

When it rolled towards me, meeting my wide, lifeless eyes in terror, I put my hand over my lips to muffle the scream that was about to come out. The decapitated head was staring unseeingly into the sky, a clusterfuck of emotions filled me, dread, horror, fear and everything in between. This man had just been expressing his feelings earlier, and now here he was, dead and disgraced all in one fell stroke of a blade.

She is my Luna, Oakley said as if he hadn't just beheaded someone, and she will rule by me." He gathered a handkerchief and cleaned the blade with it before he stowed it away.

Whatever order she gives is mine, whatever allegiance you owe me is hers, whatever respect you show to me shall be paid to her as well; you shall cherish her in more regard than you hold me, protect her with your life from any harm, and take her as your Queen! he shouted, but his words meant nothing at the time as the guilt of someone being beheaded at my expense weighed on me, "And anyone who even breathes an air of contempt around her will meet a grisly end.

I sobbed loudly as I sprinted away from the podium, disregarding his screams for me and the thudding of feet. At the time, I didn't even know where I was going; all I wanted was to be alone.

I exited the facility through a door that I assumed led outside and was standing by a large swimming pool. He stopped calling my name and I stopped hearing footsteps, so perhaps he has now realized that I prefer to be left alone.

I wiped away my tears and tried to block out the vision of my mate killing someone in front of me just because he didn't think I was crazy—wasn't that a bit extreme? In the end, I am not deserving enough to be a lunatic.

Candance, you think too much! He did it to safeguard us and demonstrate to us that he always has our backs no matter what and that he won't put up with any disrespect, Dahlia moaned.

I told her as I stared at the soothing blue waters of the pool that beheading the man seemed a touch excessive. If I could swim, I would take a dip in it right now because of the attractive and inviting atmosphere the light from the fluorescent bulbs gives it.

What did you anticipate, given that he is the Alpha King? that he punish him with 50 pushups? When she said anything, I rolled my eyes and shut her out.

    Chapter 75

    Candance's POV

How would him killing them make me more acceptable if I had killed a park visitor and therefore rendered myself unfit to be a lunatic? After letting out a sigh, I bended to take off my heels and ran my hand over my hair.

I turned around in response to the voice, Well! Well! Well! If it isn't the murderer! , only to see the Beta's mother approaching me slowly and grinning. How do you feel about another member dying because of you?!

As she drew closer to me, I was shocked to hear her say, Another member. What do you mean another member? I repeated, doing my best to give her a ferocious expression.

Oh stop it, you monster, His Royal Highness has executed a large number of individuals who had insulted you or that bastard of yours, don't you think it's time you left?

I shrugged at her, I have no idea what you are talking about. In actuality, I didn't; I was only aware of one death. What other deaths is she referring to? And I'm not going anywhere!

    You are not a lunatic.

I clapped back, Don't you have something new to say?

    Go, girl! Dahlia screamed.

She stood very close to me, very close, and I hissed angrily, I am weary of this 'you will never be luna' assertion of yours! Leave me be!

She grinned at me and said, I think it's about time I taught you a useful lesson, I do hope you can swim. Before I could respond, she shoved me forcefully and I fell into the water as her evil laugh resounded.

The moment the icy water touched my flesh, I screamed. The good news is that my attire wasn't too heavy, but the bad news is that I can't swim! I tried flapping my arms to keep myself afloat. Even trying to swim was beyond my ability.

The acclaimed Luna cannot even swim, how are you going to lead a pack?! She snarled as she stepped closer to the bank as I strained to breathe. I opened my mouth, which only increased the amount of water it took in, my nose were full too, and I could only see blue.

It was difficult to fight for my life while attempting to ignore her remarks. Help! Help! Help! I tried to yell, but my words came out in gurgles as I dove further into the water.

My lungs were growing tighter from flailing my arms around, and her taunting voice and laughing sounded like they were being muttered because of the wetness in my ears.

I tried swimming once more, but it was to no use. I heard activity, followed by screaming and then a splash as my breath started to become labored and I had to close my eyes out of weakness. My waist was pushed out of the water by what appeared to be feminine arms, rescuing me from the grip of death.

I was laid on the chilly tiles by the pool after feeling like I was being dragged out of it. Those identical hands repeatedly pressed against my chest as I struggled to keep my eyes open. I could still hear muddled voices, and as a result of the pressure, I jerked and water spurted out of my mouth and nose.

I tried to sit up as I coughed and wheezed attempting to get my breath. How could you?! The person leaning over me screamed, You almost killed her!

What the hell is wrong with you, Camilla? Was I delusional? Or am I just crazy? I opened my eyes to witness a tense argument between Camilla and her mother, You saved that bitch!

Camilla yelled at her, Are you okay? She turned to stare at me, fear written all over her features, Because she's my Luna!

I looked at the sight in front of me with open eyes. Camilla, the Beta who attempted to drown me, assaulted me, threatened me, made me envious of Oakley, and literally called me all kinds of foul names, just asked me if I was okay. Apparently, she also attacked her mother for trying to drown me. Oh no way! It has to be a joke.

Her mother approached her and yanked her to face her, saying, What has gotten into you? Are you mad?! You are to reign by Oakley! You are to be Luna not her, you moron!

She screamed at her, She is to rule by Oakley not me! I could report you to the Alpha for trying to kill his mate! I'm tired of being the regretful and bitter person!

She screamed at Camilla, I am your mother, you wouldn't!

Camilla shouted at her and then pointed at me, Then stop being an ass to her and show respect! I must be dreaming, she said as she approached me and bowed. Someone wake me up! My luna, she exclaimed, I sincerely apologize, and I beg you to both pardon my mother and me.

You have got to be kidding me, I eventually muttered, stuttering like an idiot since I was too shocked to say anything else.

I accepted her hand after giving it a very skeptical look as she shook her head, rose up, and stated, I truly am sorry for everything, after helping me stand up.

Her mother yelled, Camilla, what the heck is wrong with you? but she ignored her and continued to look at me. Her eyes, which were clouded with sorrow and regret, were visible to me.

I don't believe this bitch! Dahlia spoke right away, but I interrupted her because I wanted to be fair to Camilla.

People are capable of change, right?

The other day when you saw me in Oakley's room, I went there to try to seduce him; I know I have shown nothing but hate and malice ever since you came here and it was wrong of me, I am sorry for everything. I noticed her cheeks tint in embarrassment. I can see he truly loves you and nothing can come between you two, me trying to do that was wrong and now that I have a mate...

    Chapter 76

    Candance's POV

I smiled and asked, You have a partner, who is he?

Her mother snarled, but once more she was utterly ignored. He's no one you fool! This is simply a phase you shall pass Camilla, you are to be with Oakley and Oakley alone!

I grinned at her words, telling her that I wanted her the best while still being thrilled that Oakley would be mine alone, I do hope you can forgive me. He is one of the warriors.

I answered, holding her hand in mine and gently caressing it, Yes, I forgive you. And I hope you find happiness with your mate.

She again bowed before me, which was still odd to me and gave me a strange feeling. Yes moon, she said, I pledge my Allegiance to you and I promise to serve you till my last breath.

    I said, Thank you.

Her mother screamed at me, You witch! and charged at me, knocking me back into the water.

As Camilla hauled me onto the banks and dove back into the water to save me once more, I heard other footsteps and voices. More footfall were heard, and I turned to see the majority of the pack had started to arrive at the scene. I could know it was Kezia and Jenson because they ran towards us wondering what had occurred.

Camilla frowned at her mother, Are you okay? Steven yelled as he followed me to the ground, placing his hands on me to see if I was okay.

What happened?! A growl was let forth, and everyone moved aside to make room for my mate. I could smell and hear him before I could see him. I looked up to find him moving through the walkway in our direction, his hands clenched at his sides and a look of utter rage on his face.

I shivered in his arms as he said, What got you this wet? I attempted to think of a response rather than detect a dirty meaning to his words rather of ripping me away from Steven who immediately backed away in panic with his head lowered. Touch her one more time and lose those hands! he growled.

Oakley threw his cape over me before engulfing me in his arms, which made me feel warm. Well, is anyone going to fucking speak up?! he screamed, glaring at Camilla while everyone looked and muttered in the background.

The moment Camilla said, She shoved her into the water, everyone gasped.

I reflexively extended my thumb to calm his dilated nostrils and furrowed brows as he growled, Who the fuck dared to?

    My mother Alpha, she said.

The Beta's mother appeared in front of us in an instant, trembling in terror harder than I could. She screamed, "How could you?! You almost murdered
