About this ebook

The life is a round of roulette, where the choice is only up to a fickle ball. A silly game in which one bets and then sees how it will turn out.

Giorgio's life is a broken one. Unemployed for years, now devoid of any self-esteem, he lives in the shadow of his wife, his last connection with the world. Blaming her for escaping regrets is the only way to cope with an insignificant existence. But grief cannot be ignored forever. Pushed to extremes, Giorgio will soon have to look in the mirror and face tragic events from which he cannot turn back.

It was a more boring and pointless day than usual. As he has for years now, Giorgio feels as if another piece of life has slipped through his fingers. As soon as he returns home, he goes to the bathroom. He needs to rinse his face to scrape away the bitterness of a mundane existence. Stress, in addition, has recently hollowed his cheeks, highlighting his high cheekbones and giving his mouth a strange crease. It seems to cut the face diagonally, with one end hinting at a half-smile and the other pointing downwards, frowning,
