National Ballot Measures 2024 - Living Democracy is my gift to the country that I love dearly and have always wanted to see it survive, thrive and improve.
Whenever I am forced to listen to a speech made by any of our Congressmen or women, I will often count the number of times they will refer to America as a 'Democracy'.  They use that word an average of 15 to 20 times per speech.

They'll say things like - "Democracy is not pretty."  Or they'll say, "Democracy is messy and people don't want to see how the sausage is made."  Or they will say that people are trying to "end the 'American experiment in Democracy." 

Or they'll quote one of the greatest of the founding fathers - Benjamin Franklin who was asked as the signers of of the Constitution  were leaving: "Mr. Franklin, what kind of government have you given us?"

And Franklin replied:  "A Republic, Madam,  if you can keep it."

Today, it looks as though we are going to lose our half-ass democracy because the voters in this country are sick and tired for voting for the same old same old time after time.  It's every Tweedle-Dee or Tweedle-Dumb, while in the states we are allowed to lower our taxes and legalize marijuana.  The people are wondering why we don't do this on the National Elections.  The reason we don't is covered in this book as well as complete instructions on how we can start using National Ballot Measures in every federal election and create our own national laws and policies. 

We also include 100 of my favorite National ballot measures.  We hope you will think of many more and help to force our election process into a Real Democracy soon.  In the age of technology, the Internet and Artificial Intelligence it's a curiosity that we are not using our own innate intelligence to upgrade our ancient, worn out old voting systems.

Democracy is not a spectator sport.  It’s a living thing just like your pet dog or cat or bird.  And therefore, everyone must feed, protect and support this very rare and honest and responsive form of government or it will surely die.

We can call these suggested National Ballot Measures a major part of a Living Democracy.  Use your new Living Democracy to gradually replace the dead and dying form of a very limited and now almost totally corrupted democracy we are forced to suffer at present.

All around the world are growing numbers of people who are turning into zombie worshippers of dictators, blindly believing everything they say and slavishly doing everything they tell them to do without question.

We thought we were rid of these zombies at the end of World War II, but somehow they’re back.  There is now another major war where your participation is warranted.

We ask the reader to CUT OUT any of your favorites of these ballot measures, sign them and send them to your Representative and/or Senator in the mail or over email.

Send as many as you can and follow up with their office to voice your concerns about these issues.  They will pay only lip service to you for a while, but after many more of us do the same, they will be forced to make more and more public comments and opinions known about Real Democracy and the power of the people - and then we win.. 

Because there is no clear and logical argument against having a real democracy in America.

They all must swear an Oath to preserve and protect the Constitution of the United States.  This Constitution, as I read it, makes you and me the boss, not the other way around. 

Between the covers of this book are 100 sample ballot measures, proposals to make actual laws by, of and for the people of this nation that you would see on the actual federal ballots every two years and especially during presidential elections if we enjoyed a real Direct Democracy in this country.  The book is designed so that you can easily cut out a sample ballot measure and hand it out to your friends and family at any time that you are discussing politics AND especially to send them to Congress.

The following National Ballot Measures are my own ideas but you may have even better ones. 

Some of them will be challenged for their Constitutionality by their detractors and antagonists, but that’s OK, it just means we have to redesign some and change a word or two in others.

No one will successfully challenge the Constitutionality of the entire National Ballot Measure process because we do this sort of thing in about half the states to improve and protect our state laws.  If ballot measures are Constitutional at the state level there can be no doubt by reasonable people that ballot measures are constitutional at the national level as well since we are nothing more than the sum and substance of our parts.

In the 1st Amendment to our Constitution it is clearly stated that:  The people have the right to Petition the government.  Think of ballot measures as a nice and simple way to petition the government and make law at the same time, without having to wait for their answer.

And to add emphasis to the power of the people in this country the founding fathers told us in Article V. how to amend the Constitution and they placed NO LIMITS on what kinds of things we could amend as long as we used their prescribed process for an Amendment.

And in our wonderful LIVING United States Constitution it is stated quite clearly in the 10th Amendment:  The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

This is the reason why no state Initiative & Referendum process has been declared unconstitutional or ever can be declared unconstitutional by the Republicans and/or fascists who want to dictate the law to the majority of us based on some religious fervor or because they serve the rich and powerful only.  It is clearly stated in this amendment that any powers not listed in the Constitution are reserved to the people, and this is how nearly half of the states in the United States have adopted the Initiative and Referendum process to make laws that are suggested by the people.

BUT, this is a double-edged sword, is it not?  Any powers not listed in the Constitution but which are now deemed 100% Constitutional must be possible to be taken up by the people on the national level.  The only element that is missing is the will of the American people to declare the desire to have their Constitution amended to include this right of self-determination and solving problems by the most democratic means.

PRESERVING WOMEN’S RIGHTS: 

Because women are guaranteed the same rights in the United States as men, no abortion legislation will become law until and unless more than a three-quarters majority of the female voters in that state vote directly on the proposed limitation to their rights and pass it. 

National Ballot Measure No. 1

This ballot measure would put an immediate halt on all state legislation to limit the rights of a woman over the health and safety of their own bodies.  It would also limit the current ongoing threat by Republican religious fanatics to impose a nationwide ban on all abortions.

NO MORE WASTED FOREIGN AID: 

No foreign aid in the form of money or materials shall be given to any country outside of the United States until or unless the federal budget of the United States is balanced in order to prevent irresponsible debts being imposed on the American people to benefit foreign nations.

National Ballot Measure #2

This country sends out hundreds of billions of dollars in aid to foreign nations who use it to perform services that their own governments should but will not perform for their own citizens.  So, people in our own government decide on their own to send our money to these negligent, and often anti-American governments. 

Why the American Taxpayer is required to pay for the operating expenses of other nations is beyond any argument that I can understand.  How about you?
