    Divorce is a typical relationship crisis in modern society, which takes its toll on the individual, his or her closer and wider relationships and relatives. This crisis places a very strong negative psychological burden on the parties involved in the divorce, and it is therefore vital to deal with it.

    In the absence of processing, the successful continuation of life is doubtful, since the experiences from previous traumas can contaminate and destroy the new relationship and the new way of life.

    In addition to describing the psychological processes involved in divorce, the aim of the work is to release the psychological burden of the crisis and to transform negative experiences into constructive ones. Through these, the continuation of the New Life can be fruitful and happy.

    Divorce is one of life’s biggest life changes and has many complex emotional and mental aspects. In this chapter we explore the psychological depths of divorce and its impact on the lives of individuals and families.

    Most divorces are not the result of a one-off decision. Weighing up the pros and cons and emotional turmoil precede the actual break-up between two spouses.

    The first phase is the decision-making phase, which lasts about a year. This is the time when the first consideration of divorce is made, the individual decision on whether to divorce or cohabit is made and the liquidation strategies are developed.
