    Chapter 1

The whirring of fans in the case gradually died down, and the room was quiet again.

Logan Moore stretched hard and fell back, his heavy-backed chair creaking in protest. The sunlight outside was streaming through the window, right on his face, making him squint.

Maybe it's time to go for a walk. Looking out the window at the glare of the sun, Logan Moore thought to himself.

Since the last English exam, he has not been out of the house except for the assessment. Sitting at home all day, playing games without eating or sleeping, watching the accumulated novels for a long time. Until today, he had read all the accumulated novels, and after scolding all the slowly updated authors in his stomach, he suddenly found that he had nothing to do now.

Although the novel is to wait for the update, the game is also not busy because of a task that takes a long time - it is all handed over to the external.

Well, let's go for a walk. At the 100th count of the cicadas outside, Logan Moore finally made up his mind.

The image of wearing only shorts at home certainly can not be taken outside, change clothes, step on a pair of sandals, while combing the hair of the chicken den, everything is ready, Logan Moore flung open the door.

    The sweat poured down.

Shit! It's only June, it's so hot now, you can wait until August or September. Logan Moore couldn't stop cursing.

It's not unusual to go from an air-conditioned room to an outdoor temperature of 37 degrees Celsius.

Fortunately, he is not a person who easily changes his decision, scolding, still strides out.

Huh? Logan Moore, how can I give up today?

As soon as he stepped out of the apartment building, someone asked him in surprise.

Logan Moore looked up and saw Li in a building. They would occasionally cut two games of chess together, so Li knew him well.

I was bored at home today, so I came out for a walk. Logan Moore answered with a shrug.

Xiao Li nodded: Well, just want to go out more. See you stay at home all day, and you are not afraid of getting sick."

Logan Moore had to rub his nose and smirk.

Well, now that you're out, walk around more and do some activities every day, if you really get sick, your parents will be sick. Xiao Li said a word and went into the building.

What the hell, Mom and Dad don't know when they can come back. For Logan Moore, who was used to his parents being away from home a lot, the phrase apparently had no effect on him.

After looking around, Logan Moore decided to take a walk by the river, so he turned out of the neighborhood and headed east.

It was just past noon, and the sun was high overhead, and the hot sun shone straight down, making the ground a dazzling white. Logan Moore had not gone more than a few steps before he felt his sweat break out all over him and he had to hide as far as he could in the shade of a tree.

After walking for a while, he sweated more, and a little bit of energy came from all over his body, which made Logan Moore feel better. Only then did he feel free to start looking around.

The heat was reflected outside, where the crowds on the roads were noticeably smaller. Many old people get together, put on the chess, two people fight with each other, and the people next to them talk together, but also can have some breath. In addition, there are only a few stray dogs lying on the side of the road, desperately sticking out their tongues, as if to protest the terrible weather.

Riding on flickering patches of light on the ground, Logan Moore drove east, past a building with a billboard, and a dazzling waterline popped out in front of him.

This big river flowing from the north of the city turned south here, the water potential changed from rapid to gentle, at this time under the sun, reflecting pieces of white light, but really like a white belt around the city.

The river is green, countless people are sitting under the trees blowing the cool breeze of the river, the crowd is bustling, and the sparse population of the city has become a stark contrast.

Logan Moore looked around to see what was still empty. But he was not in any hurry. He climbed the dam, walked some way south, and then went down a flight of steps to the river. Not far ahead is the bridge across the river, under the shelter of the bridge, there is also a shady spot on the bank below. It's just that everyone else hates the noise of the constant traffic on the bridge, so it's empty at this time.

Logan Moore walked straight over, found a flat spot, and sat down.

This place is a treasure that he has often come to play since he was a child, and the picture is that few people will come. Accustomed to the rumble of traffic above, Logan Moore didn't mind.

He leaned against the wall and stretched his legs as far as he could. He had only walked a short distance, and his legs were a little sore now.

Oh, the result of not exercising. Logan Moore punched his leg twice, laughing at how corrupted he had become since his sophomore year, when he was a famous athlete in his class.

Sweating all over, Logan Moore felt cool and comfortable as the river breeze blew. The natural wind is obviously much more comfortable than the cool air produced by the air conditioner.

Logan Moore leaned against the wall, stared at the river, and began to think. One moment I thought about how the novel I just read would develop, one moment I thought about what good things the game's mission would get, one moment I thought about the last time my father called to say that he would be back before he went to college, one moment...

As he thought about it, Logan Moore suddenly felt sleepiness rise and his eyelids began to fray. After insisting on a few times, finally head crooked, fell asleep.

Time passed slowly. The sun sank below the horizon and the sky grew darker and darker. The people who were enjoying the cool by the river also went home to have dinner, and the playing died away.

Logan Moore, who had been sleeping well, was suddenly shaken by a much cooler wind and woke up suddenly.

Ah! It's so late. Oops, mission time is almost up. When Logan Moore opened his eyes to the light, he realized it was strange that he had slept so long. Then I remembered that the task in the game was still hanging, and I quickly jumped up.

    Show me...

I was about to walk back when suddenly there was a strange noise behind me.

What the hell? Puzzled, Logan Moore turned around to see a tiny spark of light bouncing out of the void behind him, and it seemed to be growing.

Shit, this... A small cumulonimbus cloud. The first thing that flashed through Logan Moore's mind was a physics textbook about cumulonimbus clouds rubbing against each other to generate electricity.

The light jumped bigger and bigger, and soon it was almost half a man tall. Logan Moore gradually became afraid that this phenomenon could not be judged by common sense.

There's not gonna be some big monster out there soon, is there?

Logan Moore suddenly thought of the situation described in the novels he often read on the Internet. When many great demons appear, they are not so strange. Of course, the hype is usually much bigger than that.

As the light continued to grow, Logan Moore could not stop his fear and turned to run away.

But as soon as the thought flashed through his head, the light suddenly expanded many times and enveloped him in an instant.

It's over, I can't believe I just hung up. After the thought crossed his mind, Logan Moore felt numb and passed out.

In eight hours. The night is deep.

Wow, hot, hot. A cry of surprise broke through the silence by the river.

Logan Moore jumped up and rubbed himself. Jumping around, like someone suddenly poured a pot of boiling water on the body.

Huh? Why is it all right again? After dancing for a while, the feeling suddenly disappeared, leaving Logan Moore puzzled. He had just been awakened by a burning sensation all over his body that had vanished so quickly.

Never mind, never mind it. He couldn't figure out why, and Logan Moore wasn't going to. After a while, he suddenly shouted excitedly: Wow, wow, wow, great! I'm not dead yet, haha... I'm alive!

At this time, he remembered what had just happened, originally thought that such a strange thing had happened, and he would surely die, but now there was nothing.

Ha ha, great, I'm not that easy to hang up the person ah. Logan Moore pinched his arm, confirming the pain was real and getting more excited.

In the middle of the night, what is the noise, but also let people sleep!

If that bastard is screaming, I'll kill you.

    ...

Logan Moore's excited screams were muffled by sudden curses from the riverside building.

'In the middle of the night? Logan Moore looked up in wonder. The moon had climbed overhead, and the river was still, except for the clatter of leaves in the night wind.

It's really late. It is impossible for the people by the river to disperse until 12 o 'clock at night, which Logan Moore knows very well and quickly accepts. He had no choice but to stick out his tongue and listen to these angry insults.

After a few curses, they stopped, and Logan Moore began to wonder how he had slept here until now.

As his mind slowly replayed the events leading up to his fainting, he finally understood the situation. Thinking of that light, I couldn't help but look back.

    Ah --

Seeing what he saw, Logan Moore cried out, but as soon as he did, he covered his mouth. He doesn't want to be scolded again.

In the bright light of the moon, Logan Moore had a clear view of what lay ahead. Originally, there was a dense weed bedding on the river bank, but at the moment in front of him, there was a circular blank area. Inside the circle, there is a white sand beach, but outside the standard circle, the weeds are still alive and unaffected.

However, this strange situation is not the main reason for his screams, the most important thing is that in the middle of the circle, there is a person lying flat.

Seeing the contrast between the inside and the outside of this circle, how can one accept that someone would lie in it?

Logan Moore's heart filled with wordless horror feeling, even the cool wind blowing on the body at this
