Lola the Spider and the Purple Crayon

Lola is a spider that was raised in the forest. She was a disabled spider that had been born with six legs instead of eight. Despite her disability she learned to overcome barriers. In fact, when she discovered the power of her web, she became very selfish and began to eat any insect that came into her trap. One day, Lola is caught by her fierce enemy who is about to squish her. Through her horrible experience Lola learns the power of choice and thankfulness. As a result, this act of kindness changes Lolas inner being-she discovers that forgiveness can save a life. About the author I currently hold a B.A. in sociology from Cal State Northridge University, Northridge, California, and am currently in graduate school at Capella University, Minneapolis, Minnesota, seeking a master’s in early childhood education.  As a licensed family day-care provider and an educator, I have created stories during “learning group” to stimulate children’s imaginations. Many of the children in my care have enjoyed the stories told, and now, with God’s help, the stories will become visual.
