    CHAPTER ONE

Abreathtaking place surrounded him. The soft colors of the sky were slowly fading away as the night deepened. He could hear loud music playing behind him. Physically, he was here but his mind was somewhere else. His hand was clenched tight around the glass, his eyes were intense.

Inwardly, he was cursing himself. He always mulled over his mistakes and tried to learn from them and vowed to never repeat them. His brothers loved him so much that they couldn't punish him for his unforgivable mistakes. He was feeling blessed as there was no room for an apology in his ruthless world.

He knew the sentence for mistakes in the dark mafia world. His expression was hard. He wanted to be somewhere else. In the dungeon - Drawing blood from his enemy's bodies, taking out his frustration.

He strode away from the railing and grabbed the champagne bottle from the bucket of ice. He poured himself and put the bottle back, not bothered that it was tilted and spilling on the table.

He didn't want to settle for less than the best.

Bed her! Bed her! He whirled again after hearing the shouts from relatives.

He glanced at Danil who was looking extremely happy holding Isha, his bride, to his side. He didn't attend any ceremony. They exchanged rings and kissed. He couldn't endure being around people.

He walked to this lonely place. He didn't want anyone to disturb him. His gaze stopped on Rose. She was holding Liam's hand. No! Liam was holding her hand. He was also making sure. No one saw them. He didn't want anyone to know, she was his weakness and strength. Liam had set a cruel, ruthless example - Touch his wife and see death eating you slowly.

His heart was pounding recalling his mistakes and how he tried to hurt her. He raked his hand through his dark hair in frustration.

'My brother loves her. He plays innocent in front of her. I was thinking that she was taking away my brother. I was f****** wrong. He can't get better than her. They've forgotten my mistakes, forgive me. But I haven't. And I can bet, brother hasn't either. I will never see Liam smiling at another one. He has kept his special smile only for us and his beloved wife. But he kept his soft side only for her. We all face consequences if we make mistakes. These rules aren't for his wife. I respect her. She never mentioned my mistakes. I also tried not to repeat them, particularly when it's about her. After all, my brother loves her. And I love my brothers. I care about what they care about. I can do anything for them. I can take a bullet for my brothers.'

He sipped from the glass and kept looking at Rose and Liam, their smiling faces. He inhaled deeply and spun. Again, facing the night sky. He wasn't sure that his brother, Danil would be the same after his wedding. The thought was nagging him.

His grasp tightened on the glass that it broke into pieces, F***! He cursed and shook his hand. Sharp pieces cut through his palm. Blood began to drip on the white marble floor and his dark coat.

Kairo, He heard her sweet voice from behind him.

Double f**k! He muttered a curse under his breath, What do you need, Rose? He asked, a little crudely. It was clear. He didn't want her around him.

What are you doing alone here? She asked softly.

'Why doesn't she ever take offense to my rude language?' He pressed his lips in a straight line. Annoyance was written all over his face.

Can you leave me alone, please? He softly asked this time.

No, I'm not going anywhere. He heard the clicks of her high heels. His brows pulled together. He didn't want her to see blood.

He heard her gasping. Swirling, he faced her.

Her shocked gaze deterred at his hand, Why is your hand bleeding? She almost squealed and stared at him with big and concerned eyes.

He thanked the loud music. But a few minutes ago, it was irking him. He wanted to explode it. He couldn't do it because it was his elder brother, Danil's wedding.

She advanced her hand to hold his wounded hand. He pulled his hand away immediately. She was scrunching her nose at the sight of alcohol and blood.

You're pregnant. You shouldn't be around me. He shook his head, glancing at her round stomach.

You're bleeding. Let me see, She extended both hands to hold his hand.

He could see from her face that she could retch at any time.

Rose, before you get sick. Get back to brother. I'll call Josh. He told her.

She looked at him with glassy eyes. He exhaled softly. Hating himself from the inside, he pinched his lips together. She didn't show but his crude words hurt her.

' This girl is soft-hearted. Da**! Not for our world.'

You're in pain. She whispered, looking at him with her big glassy eyes.

He smirked. He took out his phone and tapped on Josh's number with his thumb, his right hand's number, See, I'm calling him. I'm going to visit a doctor. He lied to her. It wasn't a big deal. It wasn't the first time he got injured. It was nothing in comparison to the pain that thought gave him that one day his brothers' wives would break this brotherhood or his mistakes would break it. He was certain. Rose would not do it But he didn't know Isha. He hadn't seen Danil taking so much interest in a chick before.

Josh picked up his call instantly, Yes, boss.

Josh, we need to go to the hospital. Come, right now. He ordered him, looking at her worried face. She kept on chewing her bottom lip. He didn't wait for him to reply. He disconnected the call and glanced at her, Relax. I.... Before he could explain his lie to her. She spun and rushed to the party. Her lavender gown was hiding her round stomach. She was six months pregnant. Everyone was worried about her health including him.

He muttered several curses under his breath for not reining his anger.

After a few minutes, she sauntered to his side again. She wasn't alone. He cursed under his breath again as he saw his eldest brother, Liam walking at him with a hard expression. He could see his hands clenched at his sides.

He cursed one more time as he didn't think this coming. He exhaled in relief as he saw Josh scurrying toward him.

'At least, I have an excuse.'

Liam stopped in front of him, towering over him. His jaw was set hard, gaze drilling through him. His menacing gaze stopped on his hand.

Extending his hand, He held his hand, Danny, call a doctor. Liam ordained. He grabbed the bloodied piece of glass and plucked it from his palm.

Oh, Gosh! He heard Rose's shocked tone.

He felt the pressure of Liam's thumb on his wrist as he glanced at the worried face of his wife.

Travis, take her to father. Message me after reaching. Liam ordained again.

B-ut Kairo? She hesitantly asked, looking at him as he cut her off. He saw her gulping at the sight of blood.

Is not a kid. Liam said.

I'll be fine. He assured her as he squinted at Liam.

He believed that Liam knew the reason for his drinking.

Reluctantly, Rose spun and walked away with Travis and two more guards.

He let out a long sigh of relief.

'BROTHER HAS TIGHTENED the security around her. He keeps his next step in prediction. Indeed, all care about her.'

It's just a cut, brother. I don't need a doctor. He said to Liam.

Liam took out his handkerchief from his pocket and pressed it on the bleeding spot, Isha is a good girl. She won't take Danil away. Liam told him.

He sighed and his shoulders sagged, She's not Rose. He said. He felt disappointment in his own voice. He didn't give da** about the entire world if it was burning. All he cared about was his brothers.

Do not do anything stupid. He's Danil. Liam smirked and warned him.

His lips curled up seeing his brother's smile. He felt blessed about one thing that his brother understood him without explaining.

He hugged him. Being close to his brother was his safe zone. Liam strongly patted his back.

He pulled back when he saw the doctor coming with Danny. Josh was gazing around, his gun clasped in his hand.

Rose needs to understand. I'm not a kid. It's normal. He glanced down at his hand. The white handkerchief was soaked with crimson red.

Don't, Liam softly said, along with a warning, I don't wanna take a risk, Liam said thoughtfully.

She and the baby are safe. He said.

Liam curtly nodded his head and gestured to him to sit down.

After a sigh, he settled down on the chair. He extended his hand as the doctor placed his medical box on the table.

Good evening, boss. He bowed his head at Liam, Good evening, Sir. He bowed his head to him before holding his hand from Liam's hold.

Three stitches, Liam said to the doctor.

The doctor examined his wounds and nodded immediately, Yes, Boss.

He wasn't feeling pain at all as the doctor began to stitch his cut. He glanced at it normally. He was worried that Rose would retch at the sight of blood but also grateful that his brother sent her away before she could behold a barbaric sight according to her.

Liam flashed him a ruthless grin as the doctor did his job. He dismissed him with a nod of his head.

I love bleeding unless it's from enemies. I hate stitches. He told him.

Liam arched his eyebrows as his green emerald gaze met his grey eyes, I'm taking Rose home. You're coming with me. He said to him, walking away.

He let out a slow breath and trod behind him. Danny and Josh walked behind them.

Rose glanced at him, apprehensively getting on her feet. Fractionally, her lips curled up in a smile when she saw his hand wasn't bleeding anymore and it was taken care.

Are you happy, now? He asked her, lifting his hand.

She nodded but her eyes locked with Liam. Curling his arm around her waist, he kissed the side of her head.

He turned his gaze away and slithered over the chairs. This was a private hall, away from the loud music and noise. His gaze locked with his father's. He looked for Danil but he could guess he must be with his bride.

He wanted to get away from all this, I'm ready to go home. He said with a chuckle as he got on his feet.

Liam, we have a meeting now. Caspian will drop Rose, the kids, and Olivia home. Nicholas said sternly.

He narrowed his eyes as he comprehended the meaning of his father, Are you including me too, father? He asked, suspiciously, looking between his father and brother

You're an essential part of this meeting, Kairo, Nicholas drawled, staring into his eyes.

He could see something coming for him.

Hello, everyone, All heads swirled, hearing a muscular, smirking tone.

He rolled his eyes as he glanced at him. He was six feet two inches tall, almost matching Liam. He plucked Rose from his arms and embraced his sister, How are you,  pumpkin? He kissed her head.

They never tried to hide their cruel side from their mother but from Rose. Caspian was also trying to do the same.

He sauntered around the table and stopped near his father, What is it? He asked, under low breath.

Nicholas pushed himself on his feet and buttoned his coat, We've sought a girl for you. His expression wasn't mocking.

His eyes widened at the shocking news. He didn't want to marry until he was sure about her. He wasn't getting good vibes about it. He looked at Liam and asked him with a slight lift of his head.

Liam looked at his father and answered with a slight shake of his head, returning his gaze to him, We should go, Dad. He said.

Of course, Nicholas dabbed on his back and motioned him to follow him. From the demeanor of his father, he was certain he was demanding respect and to fulfill his order blindly.

He glanced at his mother before turning. Olivia shrugged her shoulders before walking with Rose and Caspian. She was holding Selina's hand. Cody was holding Rose's hand and jumping on his feet.

He heard the sweet voices and giggles of kids. Rose and Liam adopted Selina and Cody three months ago. Rose made one thing clear: they would not be a part of the Mafia world. Liam cleared it to her that their son would be heir to the throne if anyone had no problem with it. She wasn't certain but he persuaded her.

He never saw his eldest brother craving for girls ever. Though, there was plenty for him in the jar. He picked an Innocent girl.

He had not thought about it. He wanted a girl in his bed but not in his life. He wanted to burn everything that would separate him from his brothers.

He walked behind Liam and his father. A guard opened the door for them. They entered a quiet and dull room.

His brows drew together as he saw their enemy and business rivals sitting calmly on the chairs behind the large dark glass table.

His expression darkened. He reached for his gun immediately. His father cut him off with his hard gaze. Liam gestured to him to put the gun back.

He shrugged his shoulders and slid it back in the holster. But he was alert.

Every eye followed them as they walked in. Vincent, the capo of Detroit stayed on the seat like
