      Author’s Note

      I wrote this book for my little sister when our dog Charles Edward Charlie was gravely ill. I later decided to publish it as a story to help other children see that there is nothing to fear from death, and to help them understand it and remain hopeful. It is based on my own thoughts about heaven and includes ideas from people I have spoken with about this. I don’t claim to have superior knowledge on this subject, which I hope comes through in the story. I
