Conquer The Ninja World - Akito B. Takahashi

    Preface

For those who have not read the first book (Yuan Rises), it is highly recommended to read it in chronological order so as not to be confused by what’s taking place. The structure in which this novel is written has a particular way it must be read. Since it is structured in a third-person point of view, all manner of thoughts and perspectives are from our main character. Each time a different character has a dialogue scene, it is more or less in a new paragraph.

Pay attention to the entire sentence to understand who is speaking. When there are more than two people talking, the next paragraph with a quotation mark is likely another character’s dialogue. Regarding when techniques—also known as abilities or powers—are being performed, the main character always thinks it as opposed to the other characters that verbally state it. This is often differentiated with an apostrophe or a quotation mark.

Apart from that: Because of the author’s Christian background, he does have a moral code of when not to cross the line. As such, he uses careful sentence structures to explain the thorough way his main character ought to behave. Though there are iterations and depictions of death by other characters, this is masked with the term slaying so as not to confuse the idea. Like the main character believes, the people referred to as people are in fact fictional creatures, not of this world.

To the lost seeking guidance, learn of these true sayings. There is no such thing as another world, save the one you are currently in. Afterwards, there is either heaven or hell. We desire none of you whom readeth these words to descend into hell. For hell is not a place for man; it was made for Satan and his angels. To enter into heaven, one must repent of their sin and accept Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Thou art on earth, so therefore, remember that God hath created the whole earth and everything in it. Turn to Christ while you still can, for the day of God’s wrath is at hand.

    1 John 2: 15

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

    Acknowledgments

All of what you’re reading is an imaginative tale. Though it might mimic the saturated community of other notable series, all of what’s written is an originally owned product. Regardless of how close or similar things might seem, it is the author’s own creation. I cannot stress to the reader how often our work is compared to others’.

We, therefore, urge the reader to understand that acts of violence are depicted in gruesome details. If you or a loved one is suffering from abuse or suicidal thoughts, we urge that you find the nearest local Christian church and seek help. Those whom believe on Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour shalt be saved.

    Kyowakoku Jungle

JONATHAN USED WHAT LITTLE strength he managed to recover from resting and stood up. He looked around and saw he was in a forestry area. Even without the night-eyes, he could clearly tell how much greener the grass was. The whole land itself was filled with saturated colours.

‘This doesn’t look like Mount Mariah.’

In the world of ninjas, there were two unique locations that were quite remote. They were Mt. Mariah, the land where salamanders resided; and Severus Cavern, the cave where dragons dwelt.

There were three ways to enter these regions. The first was to be summoned to them. The second was to traverse the secret paths that would lead to their respective places; and the third, which Jonathan used, was to be reverse summoned. However, the chances of the third method working were volatile.

If someone performed the summoning technique without signing a contract with a spirit animal, they would be reverse summoned to the animal’s respective land they had the most affinity toward. In the third season of Neo, it was retconned.

Even Jonathan wasn’t entirely sure if the technique would work. He took the chance and performed it. Whether it failed him or not, he was prepared to be sent to prison, interrogated or even die by the Tree Sect’s ninjas. However way he saw it, he would have had no regrets.

And he may have escaped the Tree Sect after fending off six majors, but he didn’t find the fight victorious. Had it not been for his Rhopalocera Mode, the first chakra, and two ancestral bloods he would have died.

What truly helped him in the battle toward the end, apart from his unyielding faith, was the supplement pill. That same pill, like all of the Anderson’s pills, carried a drawback: they were laced with poison that could kill the someone after use. But because he had extensive knowledge of most herbs and poisons, he was able to neutralize that poison after obtaining it. The timing it took was long, so he wasn’t able to produce anymore afterward.

During the epic encounter back at the Tree Sect, Jonathan had his weapons pouch on the side where he was hit from that inferno technique. Because of that, all of his items had been destroyed. Upon looking at the state his body was in now, it was malnourished. He was severely underweight!

On top of that, his entire left arm was badly burned. His body was weak and drained. What he needed was more energy to heal his injuries. With nothing to gain by standing idly around, he began walking.

As he continued on, he surmised that he was definitely not in Severus Cavern. This was beneficial to him because that territory was only expanded upon in the third season, something he had not watched.

When he stopped by a palm tree, he noticed a banana on the ground. He picked up the banana and looked at it to see if it was edible. To say that he was hungry would be an understatement. Rather, Jonathan was voracious!

Are you gonna eat that? a screeching voice uttered from above.

Jonathan looked up to see the most peculiar thing: A five-foot-tall chimpanzee atop the tree was staring at him.

Well, come on! I can’t tell what you’re thinking with that blank face of yours.

Some people would have been alarmed that an ape was talking to them, but Jonathan had seen more than enough in this world to be surprised by something like that.

No. You can have it, he replied as he held the banana towards the ape.

The chimpanzee jumped down and snatched it right out of his hand.

    Say, thanks!

The ape had a high-pitched voice. His very tone matched what he would likely sound like if he screeched. When the chimpanzee hastily peeled the banana, he held it to his mouth but hadn’t yet taken a bite. His eyes darted towards the emaciated Jonathan.

Hey! Wait a minute... What’s a kid doing in Kyowakoku Jungle?!

He had never heard of such a place before. Whether he thought it was from the third season or somewhere else, he couldn’t give an accurate answer.

    Well, boy? Speak up!

    I was summoned here.

The chimpanzee’s eyes bulged open, saying, Summoned? Here?! To Kyowakoku Jungle!

    Jonathan remained quiet.

    Who summoned you?

    I did.

    You did?!

He began to find his game of monkey-see-monkey-do annoying.

You said this place was called Kyowakoku Jungle, correct?

The chimpanzee took a bite out of his banana and began speaking with his mouth full.

Ugh-hum... Thris place is Krouwakokur Jungrle.

He did not care for his lack of mannerism. He was a quick thinker, calm and always collective. No matter what situation you placed him in, he only needed seconds to understand.

Do you have an elder? he asked.

The chimpanzee swallowed his banana and threw the peel on the ground saying, You’re not from here, alright. Of course we have an elder! But how did you know that?

Jonathan knew the chimp would ask, so he said, It’s because I’m a prophetic child that will help liberate troubles between man and ape.

The chimpanzee raised an eyebrow and came up very close to his face. The ape then stared at him for a second, darting its eyes from his head to his toes three times. Jonathan himself hadn’t moved nor changed his expression.

You’re awfully skinny to do that, don’t you think? And where’d you get that nasty burn anyways?

You can call me Kilik Yvonne, and I got it from ninjas with evil in their hearts.

The chimpanzee backed away a little. The ape couldn’t read him at all!

Does our elder know about you?

No. Which is why I’m looking to meet him.

His response was reasonable. The chimpanzee wasn’t aware of who Jonathan was, but neither could he believe what he was hearing.

I gave you that banana for a reason, you know. Don’t you think you should return the favour?

The ape chortled loudly upon hearing those words.

If I wanted, boy, I didn’t have to ask. I could have beaten you down and taken that banana!

    Then why didn’t you?

The ape stopped his laugh and froze in place while making a dumbfounded expression. It then quickly got into Jonathan’s face and darted up and down at him again with a raised eyebrow.

Well, you don’t look so dangerous. And I’ll be honest. This is the first time I’ve seen a boy step foot in Kyowakoku Jungle.

The ape then grinned his large teeth revealing sharp fangs that could easily tear his flesh off before saying, Follow me. I’ll take you to our elder to hear what he has to say.

Jonathan gave a light smirk as he and the chimpanzee began walking along the path. Kyowakoku Jungle was filled with mangroves and an assortment of other tall trees. As the name implied, it truly was a jungle. Throughout this moment, he began to consider where exactly he was.

There were two known domains belonging to certain spirit animals. Of all the animals and insects that existed in the ninja world, it hadn’t surprised him that a place for apes could also exist. For all he knew, there were likely places for spiders, cats, or even owls. If these domains were similar to one another, that would mean there would be an elder—the oldest creature in the land, who also held a lot of authority.

While the two were talking, the chimpanzee eventually began swinging from the trees due to the grass rising in height. When he noticed Jonathan wasn’t doing the same, he looked below to laugh and say, What’s the matter, prophet-boy? Monkey got your legs?! Aha-ha!

His body may not have been fully healed but his energy had slightly replenished itself during their walk. So he leapt up on one of the tree branches and landed with ease. Little to no energy was used for such a simple feat. Feeling idiotic, the ape turned around and continued guiding him.

After a moment, the two arrived at the foot of a mountain. A few hops along the mountain’s steep rocks and the two landed on leveled terrain.

The further they walked forward, the more the temperature gradually increased, until Jonathan eventually started seeing steamy mist in the air. The steam became so thick that he could no longer make out what was ahead. All he knew was that it was hot enough that he began sweating. When the ape stopped, he looked at him and told him to wait.

The ape then began screeching. Its voice was loud enough to cause the ground to shake. But when he understood that it wasn’t the ape’s screech shaking the ground, he looked and saw water rising from up ahead. A lot of the steam cleared as Jonathan understood what had caused the water to rise up so high: It was a giant macaque staring down at him with its large eyes!

He had knowledge of apes and monkeys. And what was in front of him was a large, Japanese macaque.

When a lot of the steam cleared, he noticed he was standing in what most resembled a large hot spring.

Milo Lulu, why have you called me? the giant monkey asked.

His voice was crackly but very, very deep. He was also slow when he spoke. When Jonathan looked at it, he’d estimate the monkey’s age to be around fifty. This was equivalent to a man being approximately ninety years old!

Elder Baboo, this boy... I think he said his name was Kily-something. He said he’s a prophetic child so he wanted to come see you. Umm... You mentioned something about liberation, right, boy?

Each of those names spoken would be remembered. So Jonathan slightly bowed while looking at the ground saying, Elder Baboo, excuse my intrusion. I came from the Tree Sect in hopes of learning the ways of monkeys and apes.

Milo Lulu was taken aback at his sudden respect. He knew when to lower himself to others. He was not the least bit prideful.

Tree Sect, you say. I see... Come here, Kilik. Let me take a look at you.

Jonathan walked forward a little. The two locked eyes for a moment. Despite the size of Elder Baboo, he wasn’t intimidated in the slightest. That was despite Elder Baboo’s head being estimated at around fifty feet tall (fifteen meters).

There is a lot of darkness surrounding your eyes, Kilik. I cannot see any light coming from you.

He hadn’t expected a giant monkey of all things to tell him that. So he prepared something in advance.

My darkness comes from the anguish that my heart feels for this world. I may be young but I have seen terrible torments and unfair treatment done unto others. I have no right to be here, neither have I any desire to murder those that are pure and true. To the listener of my words, I seek righteous judgment.

Milo Lulu and Elder Baboo had not said a single word. The silence was finally broken when the giant monkey said, Milo Lulu, he is telling the truth.

    What?! He is?!

Elder Baboo slowly nodded his head saying, I cannot perceive any lies coming from the boy.

Jonathan had never heard of an ability or technique that didn’t require physical contact or interrogation to detect lies in this world. At Mt. Mariah, their eldest salamander, Gibbon, had the ability to prophesize. It would not be surprising to him if this elder monkey could see if someone was lying. Though, he wasn’t lying.

From his perspective, no one in this world was pure or true. He said exactly what he believed.

Kilik, what do you hope to gain by coming here? Elder Baboo questioned.

If this monkey elder could tell lies apart from truth, Jonathan was fortunate that Milo Lulu already introduced him as Kilik earlier. So chose his words carefully and said, The world outside is littered with evil. As a boy, I cannot bear to live in it. Allow me to stay here for the time being and train under the citizens. If you find my words to be false, I shall leave.

There wasn’t a single stutter, nor lack of confidence in his words. He meant what he said without needing to reveal the whole truth.

"Sadly, that decision is not mine to make. Go, and speak with Enki.
