Conquer The Ninja World - Akito B. Takahashi

    Hardships

ALL THINGS WERE MADE for the pleasure of God our Father. Whether it be other worlds or myself, all shall bow down to the Lord.

I was sent here to the ninja world with a purpose, yet I have not found what that purpose is. People where I’m from revel at the idea of living a new life. But what I’ve experienced is nothing short of misery. For there is no new life elsewhere.

We have one life, and that’s in Jesus our Lord. Without him, I would have long since been corrupted. Ever since my arrival to the ninja world, I was in a daze, almost believing what I saw was real. Yet it wasn’t real.

The people here are not people. They may walk and talk as if they were, but they are far from what I know to be considered people. The way they dress and act, I can only see them as devils. As they are nothing more than evil creatures wearing masks.

Perhaps other people would see them differently; perhaps I’m a psychopath like they claim I am. But I know one thing for certain: I was sent here with a purpose. So who says that I died on earth?

    I did not die!

I breathe, I think, and I can smell and hear just as if I were alive. But can the things in this world do the same? Surely, ye jest. They are but mere fabrications of what I know to be normal.

Nicolas Brown, the creator of this world, built his so-called ninjas around the idea that they could use superpowers. Using the substance known as energy, they can jump high, run fast, and even fly if they practiced. If only Nicolas knew how dangerous it was to build such a fantasy. This is why I hate this world: It is just a mere fantasy used to corrupt people’s spirits.

I am neither the main character, nor do I wish to meet the ones who are. If this world was made for them, then why am I even involved? Surely, I will do everything I can to ensure I don’t get devoured by those characters. And who knows them better than me?

When I interact with them, they act just as I remembered. Or better yet, they act exactly as Nicolas wrote them. If I try to preach unto them, they know not nor have ever heard of Christ. And if I try to tell them this is a fake world created by men from where I’m from, they become weary.

Who can say that I am wrong for slaying these people I call things? Devils roam their lands freely, possessing them so they can be used as weapons. Such a thing is heresy. And I shall not stand for it.

But what must I do to stop it? I must acquire all the power this world has to offer and use it against them. On earth, we—as living people—can grow strong. But here, in this godforsaken world, one must be born into power.

Since I am considered an outsider, I shall take their power and fight whoever stands in my way. And I shall do so without forsaking myself.

Oh, ye things that profess to be alive, how much more must I suffer in your presence? You pretend to have families, and you feign what love truly is. Devils do not know how to love. They are filled with anger, malice, and all manner of hatred.

If I give them even an ounce to persuade me, I will surely be trapped. Even worse, I will forever be surrounded by darkness until God rescues me. So because of that, I will not lose hope of returning home. I will fight until the end.

I, Jonathan Yuan, have excelled in whatever I pursued. Both on earth and in this world of ninjas. They thought me to be lacking, but I learned of their medicine, their arts, and what they deemed to be science. And with that knowledge in hand, a path was formed for me to continue to grow.

My first battle was fought meticulously. Though I do not refer to these things as he or she, for the sake of my thoughts, I shall give them what might be their appropriate pronouns. This thing that I fought, she had one desire and one desire only: to kill me. Like I would ever let a devil try!

Once my first battle concluded, I went through what felt like grueling pain. But when I arose the next day, that pain was forgotten. My vision had changed, but the way I looked at the world was still the same. Whether I had to cast out this body I came here with or not, it would be alright.

This body was of this world. My soul, however, is not of this world. For how can one explain everything looking similar except my eyes when I first arrived here? They were green like a jade stone, but I remembered them being brown on earth!

And why stop there? If my very eyes could be changed without repercussions, I would surely change my entire body as well. That was when I found this little girl that the world had abandoned. She became my prey.

Though she screamed and struggled, no one came to her aid. She wasn’t even alive, yet she pretended as if she had a life that was in danger. And by the time all was said and done, I had acquired a power that would continue to push me forward. As for the girl, she was completely cast aside, and no one in this world would even remember she existed.

That was how they treated their kind.

But why must I trouble myself with these memories? They won’t profit me in the slightest. Perhaps it’s because, unlike them, I dream. Oh yes, I dream in this world, too.

But they are not the dreams people have where I’m from. No, they’re more like past experiences. Regardless, I awaken from these dreams, only to find myself stuck in this world. Whatever reason I still even dream, it only emphasizes the fact that I’m still alive.

And I couldn’t help but notice something strange. This world doesn’t seem to be the exact duplicate as I remembered. Or rather, the scenes that the writers skipped over were all being filled in. It was like being able to read a book despite the pages clearly being animated white, signifying they were blank to the audience.

While I’m here, though, those blank pages were always filled in. When I interrogate, or, for better humane words, question, the things here, they even have their own stories. It didn’t matter how insignificant their roles were, where they were from, or how they had never been mentioned before on earth; they seemingly had their own background. What more will Satan do to try and make me believe the lie?

I will go through as much hardship as is required until I find the answers I’m looking for. No devil or evil spirit will stop me. It is because there is one that is over them all: Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. And so long as I believe on him, I will be saved.

JONATHAN YUAN’S PRIMARY objective for the past eight months had been spent trying to utilize the Gift of the Monks’ energy. The more he was seen as Zyair in the Tree Temple, the less often he used him as a transformation. He would regularly watch each monk perform their duties before picking the right one to transform into during certain times of the day. To be more conspicuous, he would greatly alter their appearance to make sure others didn’t recognize him by chance.

When he wasn’t at the Tree Temple, he would travel elsewhere to ensure his plans weren’t being delayed. His first location would always be the Tree Sect. That was because Izarra Archon was a walking paradox. Not once had she reported her two encounters with him.

Because of Flynn, she became closer to Icarus. It wasn’t the same as in the original story, but it was enough for her to open up slightly. The thing that Jonathan discovered was that Icarus now knew Izarra was being stalked by him. She told Icarus all the details while making him vow to keep things a secret from the family.

It was a childish act, but Jonathan was not perturbed in the slightest. As long as Izarra made connections and grew, it would only lean in his favour. Rumours had been spreading about her talent. To the point that even talks of her advancing to the Major Intelligence Agency (M.I.A.) were being mentioned.

After confirming things in the Tree Sect, Jonathan would immediately head back to the Tree Temple. He was bent on gaining access to their energy. It was a rarity in this world, and not many people had a counter to its deadly technique. Kaden and Harper, two Outlaw members, managed to survive its multiple energy fists, but that’s because they’re both technically immortal.

Every other week, Jonathan would transform into Kaizer Ortega before teleporting to Takayama Town. There, he was given a brief overview by Katsumi Washizawa. The progress was going well. What he was interested in was knowing which group would be trying to prowl around his affairs.

Because word got out that Katsumi was too busy spending his time and effort on this project, it caught the attention of the news media. Katsumi was one of the richest people in this world, so he was bound to garner attention. His building, therefore, gained some publicity. This was the downside of Jonathan’s plan.

Thankfully, he made sure to keep his name and face completely confidential. The only moment he would be seen in the town was inside Washizawa Kensetsu. Katsumi openly accepted him with open arms due to him being his biggest client to date. When he wasn’t there talking with Katsumi, he would secretly go to the site to personally see how much progress was really being made.

After handling matters in Takayama Town, he would be found back at the Tree Temple. He could not outright replenish his energy when he was finished with his tasks. The Gift of the Monks’ had an energy bank of its own; meaning, he had to divide his own energy while trying to harness the energy at the temple. When he was done training for the day, he had to naturally let his energy replenish on his own so as not to let Batholith’s energy corrupt the training process.

Because of that, mixed with Jonathan’s already low energy reserves, he didn’t have enough stamina left to train anything else. For eight whole months, he was in that state. For eight whole months, he meditated while constantly being fatigued. For eight whole months, he had to disguise himself as a monk.

It was only after those eight months of hardship that Jonathan finally reached one hundred percent and acquired the Gift of the Monks!

    Mud Tech

DURING THAT EIGHT-MONTH period, the Tree Sect and the Rocky Sect were not the only things Jonathan was keeping track of. He had thunder cruise marks placed in three out of the five great countries. They were the Inferno Country, the Weapon Artists from Aqua Sect, and lastly, the Gale Country. Out of those countries, the Gale Country was the only country aside from the Inferno Country that didn’t have at least two youkais.

Jonathan had one day placed a mark on Graham, the Desert lord’s son. This was because Graham was a Host. From time-to-time, Graham was being monitored by him due to an event that was scheduled to unfold soon. It was the perfect time for him to make his move.

When he said he was watching Graham, he was also watching everyone around him as well. As such, he ventured to the Sandy Sect and waited until night fell. Tonight, after all, was a special night. As this was the night that Graham was going to enter his Eclipse Mode and wreak havoc on the sect!

From what he recalled, Graham’s uncle, Javier, was given a mission to psychologically test Graham to see if he could tame his youkai. It was a ridiculous idea to begin with, as the mission involved Javier attacking Graham and then lying to him about how neither Javier nor anyone else ever loved him. Because of that, Graham murdered Javier and then tattooed his own body with energy—despite being only a child. His psyche afterwards became so corrupt that the Fossilized Rat was eventually released all in one night.

How could they expect a toddler, who can’t even tie his own shoes, to be capable of wielding the power of a youkai?

Jonathan teleported to the Sandy Sect and disguised himself as none other than Javier. There was a reason he chose him. Javier became an Honoured Senior in the Desert Ministry after Hugo’s supposed death. He was an intelligent shinobi, but not intelligent enough to know that psychologically impairing a child’s mind would lead to Javier’s own death.

When Jonathan arrived, he hid himself close to the Desert lord’s mansion. Javier’s mission had already been assigned, which he was more than aware of. From afar, he watched as the real Javier wrapped his face so Graham wouldn’t recognize him. As easily as Jonathan could have stopped this event from happening in order to save Graham from becoming sadistic, his target was by no means Javier nor Graham; it was the Desert lord!

When he found him, Romero was seen looking into a crystal mirror made of hardened mud. This item allowed him to spy on other people’s location from anywhere in his sect.

Those two are having a touching moment, don’t you think?

When Romero heard someone behind him, he placed the mirror into his garment and turned around. Shocked to see Javier’s face, he said, What?! But... You can’t be—

    Can’t be what? Jonathan interrupted.

    Who are you?

What are you, blind? Can’t you tell?

He then smiled, then pointed at his chest, saying, I’m Javier...

There was a moment of silence. Romero truly couldn’t tell whether this was the real Javier.

It looks like we’ll be able to see if Graham’s able to become the ultimate weapon, Jonathan said.

Romero continued staring at him until a loud noise was heard. When he looked in the direction it came from, the Fossilized Rat was towering in the center of the sect!

    Argh! Romero screamed.

When he looked down, a sword was sticking through his chest from behind his back. Standing directly behind him was Jonathan. Suddenly, Romero’s body turned into mud. He had used the replacement technique.

What made a character like Romero so special was his mud ancestral blood. This ancestral blood allowed its user to perform techniques that could turn any hardened surface into soil, loam, silt, or clay that was mixed with water. The Sandy Sect was
