Bang, bang, clatter, clap, clap, clap, whistle . What’s happening? I’ve got to find out! Squiggy Squirrel jumped from the branch of the oak tree and scampered to the edge of the forest. There at the Zoo Park were lots of people crowding around the fence in front of a large pool of water. On a wooden platform above the pool lay an odd creature. It looked like a huge fat fish.
Now what is this?
Squiggy muttered as he watched. The fish
squirmed and wiggled until it reached a big button attached to the side of the platform. With its nose it pushed the button, and music blared so loudly that Squiggy clapped his paws over his ears.
What the strange creature did next was unbelievable. It started to sing!
What a horrible noise! But the people watching clapped and shouted. When the music stopped, the singing
stopped. Again the fish pushed the button, the music started and so did the singing.
Hmmm,
Squiggy said. I’ve got to find out who this creature is.
When it squirmed off the platform and dove into the water, the people slowly walked away. Now’s my chance,
Squiggy muttered. He scooted under the fence and hurried to the edge of the pool. As the odd creature swam over to meet him, Squiggy suddenly thought, Wait a minute. Maybe he’ll think I’m some kind of food, here for his dinner.
He turned, ready to run for the safety of a tree, but the fish
said, "Please don’t go away. Can’t we talk and be
